I say it's an important street to know. Not for shopping because let's face it, nobody comes to this street to buy expensive jewellery or traditional Chinese clothes. People come here because it is THE road to know to get you to the nearby touristic places Chengdu has to offer; such as Wide and narrow street, Shu Feng Ya Yun Sichuan Opera, Chengdu People's park, Kuanzhai Ancient Street of Qing Dynasty.. All within walking distance... Superb, right?
There are several great hotels on this street, this makes it very easy for you if you want to avoid taking the taxi and just prefer to walk to these touristic places. Like for example if you would go and see the Chinese Opera, that would just be a 3 minute walk. Kuanzhai Ancient street is nearby, so you could easily just stroll your way to it, simple and easy.
There is a subway stop nearby called, Tonghuimen. It's a line 2 stop that can get you to Tianfu square in 2 stops. So really, conveniency at its best!

Wanna enjoy the best hotpot in ChengDu? Wanna buy expensive gold items for any special occasion? Come to QinTai Road, spend no less that 2 hours and go back home. Recommended for first-time visitors only, try to keep your wallet inside your pants, it's not worth it.

This is a very "fancy" street for Chengdu. Every single building has been either built or rebuilt in classical Chinese style, and every building is worthy of a photo. Half of the buildings seemed to house insurance companies (if only my insurance company had offices like these) and the other half seemed to house very, very expensive jewelry stores, one after the other on a not very long street at all. Sandwiched in between were a few restaurants, none of which had an English menu, a couple of tea house/opera house venues, and a few souvenir shops. Not a destination by itself, unless you are going to the park that is here.

We walked along here on our way from the metro stop to the temple. Wide street, with pretty buildings on both sides, mainly full of upmarket restaurants and jewellery shops. However, we did discover a very quirky restaurant called FunFood which is great for a lunch time snack and also some outlet shops where I got a lovely coat at a very cheap price. The outlet shops are on the right if you are walking up from the station, just after the turn off for the park which leads to the temple. Fun food is on the left before you get to that turn off. There is also a shop with opera costumes, and a lovely park and pagoda at the end of the road.

A modern street built in Chinese style that is really only there for the tourists, The shops all charge over the odds so if you want to pay extra for tea or jewellery then go ahead. It is also known as Hot Pot street and contains some of the most expensive restaurants in the city. If you are worried about the food hygiene standards in the more local restaurants elsewhere but still want to sample this style of cooking then here is a safe bet. But if you want my advice, go for the hotpot restaurants that the locals use, the food is more authentic and pretty safe to eat.

Hey you'll definitely find the real stuff here but everything is expensive here.
This is another tourist trap and it's just one street...nothing really to see.
It's about 1 km from Ren Min park and it is right next to Cultural park.
So maybe just come here just to say "Yeah I came here." to your friends.
Summary-
Just a street to buy jewelry on. But come with your sugar daddy or momma
Photo opps for tourist.
Near 2 really great parks.

This road is quite busy for both foot traffic and cars and bikes. The 900-meter-long Qintai Road featuring structures and buildings with the styles of the Han (202BC -- 220AD) and Tang (618 - 907) dynasties, is a famous cultural street to commemorate two legendary figures, Zhuo Wenjun and Sima Xiangru!
If you have the time, I recommend you spend some time on Qintai Road.

Very China style road. Seem like an old town in the city. A few steamboat restaurant along the road. The outlook design of the shops here are special.

I had a very great evening watching Sichuan opera at Shufeng Ya Yun in Qintai Road. The most famous Sichuan Opera operator, I am very satisfied with the almost 90 minutes of various performances and plays regarding Sichuan lore (I especially loved the puppetmaster and the face/costume changing opera). Great traditional show, a must see!
