A place to walk around and relax, looking at the locals in their elements. Either playing chess, dancing to music , writing calligraphy or helping young souls find their soul mate. It’s surely a site to see when visiting chengdu .

There is a lake in the park with good scenery and a photo spot.
A famous Taoist monastery is also located in the corner of the park.
A square with statues depicting twelve heroes died during civil war.
Just outside the east gate of the park there is a shopping street .

What an absolute delight to visit this park after a long day of commuting to Chengdu. Walking into the park, one can hear music playing as the local people congregate to sing and dance together. As you walk through the park, you'll come across groups of locals performing together, watched on by other local people. No money is required to watch as enjoyment is the fee.
You will also see local women playing match-maker for their children. Tge profiles are hung on the fences to pursual and the women sit together and discuss making arrangements.
There are also tea houses, full of the locals playing cards and games and catching up over tea, which is delightful.
It truly is a sanctuary from the city as well as being a vibrant community center.
Well worth a visit!

This is one of the best parks located in the center of the city. There are many different gardens inside the park with tea house and local cafeteria offering lunch $2-3. You will enjoy the walk around the park and many attractions near by

We came here with a tour group and spent a pleasant couple of hours wandering around. There were lots of activities going on such as water painting, karaoke, dancing and exercises by lots of local people. We also visited Matchmakers corner, where parents advertise for a partner for their offspring, bests online dating.
There are tea houses, but we went to the main one which was tired, dirty and too busy. The green tea we had was not great. Go to the other one!
Nice way to spend a couple of hours.

Located just to the east of the main city centre square. A great place to visit and people watch. Busy with families taking the air, boating on the lake, doing dancing and the inevitable elderly ladies exercising to music. Lots of huge fish were being fed and the tea houses were busy.
Great displays of flowers - especially the lotus flowers, grown in pots of water, which were just coming out into bloom. All the women dressed in sunday best were being, photographed in front of a lotus flower.
Very well kept - every scrap of litter was swept up as soon as it hit the ground.
There are lots of food stalls (was on a sunday) - I recommend the pork kebabs (3 for Rm15).
I spent a very enjoyable hour wandering around seeing what family relaxation time was like in Chengdu.

We visited the lovely Chengdu Culture Park with our guide Daisy, from China Highlights. Daisy took us to a tea house and taught us how to play Mahjong. I was traveling with my teenage boys and believe it or not this was one of the highlights of their trip! Daisy made the experience feel like we were hanging out with friends instead of being on tour. Very cool.

A lovely park with lots of fascinating activities. People just strolling, exercising or dancing. Also water painting. Lots of tea houses. Our party stopped at one which was packed. Had the traditional serving of green tea(not a fan). Was "entertained" bu people having their ears cleaned!!!! Many diverse things happening.

Our trip leader called this "People's Park" and it sure was the day we were there. There was dancing, people playing Mahjong, Karaoke singers, and people like us just walking around interacting with the local peoples and having a great time. It is a very pretty park with a little lake/pond, a ancient tea house, and many paths to walk and see what was happening.
