The temple is right in the middle of the city. It took us a while to find it due to the heavy construction in progress around the entire site. The whole area surrounding this site is rebuilt into some ancient town/city for tourism. Unfortunately the...More

This temple stand in the middle of the town. For me (european) this temple is very nice but if you visit others before it will look like the same. we were lucky to assist to a celebration. Best thing in this temple is to go...More

This monastery is just in the new rebuilt area of the old town. From outside it seems to be just an already seeing temple structure, instead it is really worthy to take a visit. Even if without a guide, you could not be able to...More

This is an outstanding example of Liao dynasty architecture, with a few buildings dating from 1038, although most have been reconstructed. It is interesting and instructive to visit. I did have an interesting experience there. In one of the temples, the monk handed me some...More

Probably worth doing this with a guide as the signs at this location don't explain the significance of the buildings and what the temples represent. This was worth a visit. Not so busy with tourists, and more enjoyable than most temples to stroll around. Great...More

Perhaps shouldn't have been surprised, but thought the works here were outstanding, interesting and beautiful. Overwhelming wood sculpture, murals and, of course, Buddhas

This temple is exceptionally good. It is huge and has been well-restored with spectacular artwork and statues. The buildings look almost Japanese in style, rather than Chinese and the whole complex is a marvel. The view from the pagoda is great and the best part...More

This is a pretty standard temple complex, with statues and many buildings. What pushed this above average for me was the underground copper or brass room under one of the pagodas. Visited in December when it was -10 and we were the only tourists in...More

It was a pleasant surprise. The complex was huge and well maintained. We had visited it in Nov so the place was not bustling with people. If you are a true believer, the statues inside were all magnificently preserved by the high almighty. Worth visiting.
