Most Helpful Positive Review

The May the Fourth monument represents a Red, anti-imperial whirlwind rising up to sweep Japanese colonialists out of Qingdao, as happened in 1922. While this little-known episode of history is locally important, it isn't something which will be particularly significant for most foreign visitors. Mind...More

We loved hanging out here with three kids in tow. We stumbled upon and outside performance on the little stage with dancing and Chinese opera, kid acrobats and some sort of little play. It was great! We bought the kids bubbles and blew them in...More

Its big. Its red. That's it really. Nice place to walk to but only if you want a walk destination. Not worth a special trip.

I walked for hours in and around the area May Fourth Square lining the beach , and the experience was simply breathtaking. I never found so much of peace as much I did here. The monument is of great significance and it stands tall :)

Beautiful place to visit. Tucked into the CBD of Qingdao. Can see many families enjoying their afternoons by flying kites or just enjoying the scenery. Also within walking distance of the Olympic Sailing Center. Well worth the visit. Many restaurants (Chinese and Western) nearby.
