This has to be the must-visit place when in Jinan. We only spent a couple of hours walking around the lake and just covered about half of this whole place. Absolutely beautiful all around! Seemed like this lake area took up half of the old city surrounded by the moat.

One of the main attractions in Jinan, a lovely lake like XiHu in Hangzhou. Good place to go for a walk. Only half the lake is covered by fence which means the other half is free if you don't mind walking further inwards.

Really nice scenic spot where you can go for a walk and enjoy the local culture. Totally worthy if you go to Jinan

Visited here while studying in Jinan. We took a boat trip across the lake to the island - where there was some souvenir shops. The park is spotlessly clean and the trip on the boat was fun. It was too hot to even want to walk the circumference, however if I went back I'd try to visit early morning or late evening to do so.

Winter vacation is a good time to have fun .Anything here was great .I went to Jinan with my family in this winter vacation. Because it was during the Spring Festival that we went there, there were not many people .After we arrived at Jinan station, we went to the Shandong Building we lived. There is something special in the hotel. Across the hotel lobby, there was a big pool. A piano in the middle of the pool and the flowers and plants were planted around .The service was good and the people were not only helpful but also polite .The Spouting Spring and the Daming Lake were not far from the hotel .So we decided to go there on foot .The Daming Lake is beautiful and the Spouting Spring is amazing .They shocked me a lot .I also learnt many histories about the other places of inerest.
Shangdong Museum was the most place that made me wonder .Shandong Museum boasts a colletion of more than 21 thousand items. I’d took quite a few photos there .I’ve visited the exhibitions. One is the Exhibition of Culture History of Shandong ,the other is the African Wildlife Migration Exhibition .The first one was my favorite part .The history of Shandong was very long and the famous bronzes were fantastic .I wish to go there again because there are many other exhibitions I’ve not seen this time .
There were many local foods in Jinan .We had something very special—intestines of pigs .Although they looked bad at first, they really tasty when we ate it .The local foods of Jinan can’t be missed!

Walked around the Daming Lake park yesterday for a couple of hours. Very scenic area in the busy heart of Jinan. Worth it to stay till evening when all the lights turn on over the entire park.

Sizable lake in the heart of the city! Access to the lake via boat through the canal(South Gate 2) is a very unique and fun opportunity for first-time visitors. You can also enjoy visiting the Jinan Confucian Temple nearby. Some of the nice coffee shops and restaurants are located around the temple.

Daming Lake is in the heart of Jinan which is wonderful as it is a very big city, you can hire boats or just walk around the lake, your choice very peaceful and relaxing

This is an absolutely beautiful lake which is well worth a wander around. You can also take a boat ride or do a sort of aquarium activity where you can see what is below the lake (both cost extra).
The park is actually open until 10pm in the summer (although the ticket office closes around 6.30pm), but it is worth seeing before it gets dark.
It is walking distance from Baotu Spring Park and the five-dragon pond and you can buy a combined ticket for all 3 for 75RMB. If you are coming from Jinan West railway station the best option is taxi as the bus takes nearly 2 hours and it is hard to find the right bus stop at the station.

The lake is huge and you can take a boat ride there. It's quite crowded there and there were some people selling some souvenirs and snacks. I won't recommend buying the snacks. Usually it's served for some time and not in the prime condition. My friend bought some churros just to throw that away after a few bites. If you like the relaxing and serene feeling I would suggest going to Wulongtan Park instead.

I can't remember how much, but it wasn't very much. I think adults were 10RMB and children 5 (however, this is just a guess!). The boat trips are interesting as you think it's going to be a trip around the lake, but it's actually transport between the islands and various points around the lake.
Enjoy! We loved it there!
