Lion Forest Garden is one of the four top tourist destinations in Suzhou. Compared with the lesser-known destination such as the Master-of-Nets Garden, it is much more crowded. Most of the buildings of the Lion Forest Garden are used for bonsai display. They are nice, but not unique for the Lion Forest Garden. I found that the highlight of the tour is the winding pathways through the rockeries surrounding the lake. It may take you around one hour to go through all the winding pathways, and you will experience different views when you pop out of the pathway.

The highlight was following the winding path through the rocks. The twists and turns meant that every view of the garden was different, and there was always something interesting to look at.

The Lion Forest Garden in Suzhou, China, is a captivating destination that offers visitors a glimpse into the rich history and beauty of traditional Chinese gardens. Spanning over four hectares, this meticulously designed garden is a testament to the artistry and craftsmanship of ancient Chinese gardeners.

Upon entering the Lion Forest Garden, one is immediately greeted by a serene atmosphere and a sense of tranquility. The garden's layout, with its winding pathways, delicate bridges, and picturesque pavilions, creates a harmonious blend of nature and architecture. The carefully manicured trees, vibrant flowers, and serene ponds further enhance the garden's allure.

One of the highlights of the Lion Forest Garden is its collection of intricately carved lion statues, from which the garden derives its name. These stone lions, with their exquisite details and lifelike expressions, add a touch of grandeur and mystique to the surroundings.

Visitors can also explore the garden's various halls and pavilions, each offering a unique perspective and a chance to appreciate the garden's beauty from different angles. The Lotus Pavilion, in particular, provides a stunning view of the lotus pond, especially during the blooming season.

Overall, the Lion Forest Garden offers a captivating and immersive experience for those seeking a glimpse into the splendor of traditional Chinese gardens. Its meticulous design, serene ambiance, and rich cultural heritage make it a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Suzhou.

I've heard this place from many colleagues of mine. The labour holiday gave me and my wife a great opportunity to check out the ancient landscape. I guess it'll be busy after the pandemic.

Much smaller than we expected and a little difficult to find - we walked past it a couple of times before venturing inside to check if it was the lion forest garden. If you spot a coach park you are in the right area.
We spent about an hour looking round the garden, certainly worth a visit.

Beautiful Little Rock Garden in the middle of old town Suzhou. It is totally different from the Humble Administrators Garden, smaller with the focus on the rock formations.

Lovely. The Lion garden was something of a maze and presented a lovely challenge and tour. It's filled with history and it shows and boast of the past with its culture.

I found this similar to the Master of the Nets Garden but if you are more interested in the details of the gardens this does have differentiating features like the rocks which are supposed to resemble lions and the maze.Unless gardens are a prime interest you might find visiting all the premier gardens in Suzhou excessive.
