The Confucius Temple (or 文庙) is probably one of the more understated temples in Suzhou, compared to its more famous counterparts like Hanshan Temple or Xuanmiao Guan. It is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood along the main N-S thoroughfare (Renmin Road) in the city....More

This is an excellent temple, with fascinating artefacts and as it appears to be little visited, also a sense of tranquility. Part of the gardens are under reconstruction as of September 2017, but that won't spoil your experience. A must see.

The four greateast steles of Song Dynasty (960-1279), are real national treasures, stay in the Confucius Temple of Suzhou. And this place is free. I looooooooooovvvvvveee it!
