Went with elderly parents and young kids. It's a really good place for all generations. There are frequent shuttle busses to bring you to different parts of the park so that was amazingly easy. The trails aren't too hard either for the elderly folks. There are fun activities for the bigger kids such as zip lining (there were 3 different zip lines) but the most fun for those under 70 years old was the giant 3km slide at the top of the mountain. It was a water slide on a glass path heading down the mountain -- super thrill ! It was like being in a water park -- fast and exciting and so much fun.
Take note that the park is quite strict about ages so they don’t allow people under 10 and above 70 to take the rides or even walk on the suspension bridge or the glass bridge. Which is a pity cause the glass bridge is the main highlight of the park. But there are other trails for the elderly too. The cinema experience was quite a treat as well – it’s a 4G type cinema experience and the show was about the whole park and seeing all the different areas of it – it was very well done and I would recommend watching it.
Our taxi driver offered to help us buy tickets which was helpful so they could help translate the ticket packages and they get a commission from the park – we still pay the same rate so I would recommend everyone let their taxi drivers help them buy the tickets. This seems to be the case to any attraction in Haikou – the taxi drivers get a commission if they help you buy the tickets so why not help them out.
We had an excellent taxi driver lady whom we used for all our 4 days in Sanya – ping me and I can share her contact! We communicated via wechat and wechat had a seamless translation software so it’ll be easy for non mandarin speakers too.

It was low season, but it appeared that Chinese tour groups chose this park over the many beaches in Sanya. Anyway, bit crowded outside and you do have to quickly register as a foreigner and everyone has to wear a mask when entering. However, once in the park, covid is no longer a concern and masks can be taken off:). The main attractions are tourist traps, but the view at the peak is quite nice amd the hike down to Orchid park was worth the admission. At the top there were hundreds of tour groups, but going down we only met one other couple. Since it's mostly steps down your calves will be hurting, but we have no regrets. Definitely worth it if you're in Ya Long Bay for 3+ days, but if less I recommend sticking to the beach.

Beautiful scenery. We had a very nice hike through the rainforest. It was a little confusing understanding when we could walk and when we must ride the bus.

I echo the comments of the last reviewer (Ben D). This is a quintessentially crowded Chinese tourist experience, over organised with legions of shuttle buses, (local) fast food outlets and aspirational names for every scenic spot. But the scenery is nice, the views spectacular and the park is well cared for - and makes a change from the beach only 5km away. I would recommend the 3km trail from the Orchid Park to Preak Park or vice versa depending on your fitness and knees. Very few people, nice views, massive boulders and extraordinary banyan trees. The orchid area is very pretty when the crowds have thinned

This park is definitely designed for tourists and the entrance prices are too high for what it is. I paid 158 Yuan person for basic entry and my girlfriend paid 145 Yuan as she booked in advance, but this option is only possible for Chinese visitors.
There are optional extras such as the rope bridge, glass walkway, and zip line (closed on the day we visited), but these are also costly and we decided to skip them, figuring they would be packed.
Foreign visitors are required to fill out a health check form upon entry, whereas Chinese visitors aren’t (no idea why this is), however this only took a couple of minutes and wasn’t too much of a hassle.
A bus takes you from the entrance and goes in a long loop, first ascending and then descending the mountain, with various stops along the way. This could either be a fun or hair-raising ride, depending on the driver’s attitude and how squeamish you are, but the scenery along the way is good.
At the top of the park is a square and also a pagoda, which was packed with people taking photos. It’s all very touristy, with various food and souvenir outlets selling overpriced goods.
The only saving grace of this park, in my opinion, is that it does have a nice scenic trail from the top back down to the ground level. It’s about 2km in total and takes you back to the orchid garden, through wooded areas and past huge boulders. Very nice and peaceful. It took us an hour and a half to complete and we only saw a handful of other people along the way, so it’s a nice option to avoid the tourist groups.
Note that there are a lot of steps along the trail, so not suitable for less able-bodied people, but if you can manage it, then do it. Definitely the best part of the experience for me.

Ridiculously overcrowded and convuluted registration process to get inside. Massively overpriced attractions. Blatant racism and discrimination shown against foreigners - they are required to register and have their temperature taken due to COVID-19, but Chinese are not, even though the Chinese border was closed at the time I went and Chinese are the only ones bringing the virus back to China. Avoid this place.

The park offers views of Yalong Bay and has a well maintained tropical forest. Would recommend starting at the peak and working your way down from there to go from the exposed heat to the cooler gardens. The cost is 90 RMB + 50 RMB for entrance and bus in low season. I'm not sure if the bus fee can be waved but it is worth it as there aren't many walkable options to go without.
Please note that there are extra activities that cost more to experience like the glass walkway and suspension bridge. After looking at them we thought they were not worth it as it was very busy and the lineups were long. We took a Didi to get here and believe it is worthwhile to visit if you're in the area. It is very easy to avoid the crowds because most are eager to do the bridges and glass walks.

This place was worth it to go and see. If one gets the cheapest ticket, 140 yuan, one will be able go all to the top with the bus. For other things to do such as sliding ropes, water bridge ie. one can buy inside other tickets.Food and drinks are available just in a higher price. The road going up is pretty cool, very steep and curvy. Many Chinese tourist there now.

We took bus to come here. We bought the package ticket which including lunch. We love the glass walkway. This is a huge park that there are plenty of scenery places therefore we had spend at least 5 hours here.

Can we easily get a taxi from the park to head back to the city?

Taxis are everywhere but we hired a car for the day whcih took us to a number of sites and may be the most economcal option. My wife is Chinese so she should know!
Warning there are lots of steps which are not pushchair or wheel chair friendly

Hi, we will be in Hainan mid April. Is that a good time to visit the park? What's the nearest train station to this Park? Is there a park entrance fee? And what about the restaurants on the top of the mountain? Goidy?

Hainan is a large island. Sanya being at the southern tip. There is a train from the North to South but I have not taken it. From the Sanya resort area of Yalong Bay, the forest park is an inexpensive can ride. There is an entrance fee... Of around RMB100 per person ($17 US). I did not eat in the Park so I cannot comment on the food.
