The South (China) Sea Guanyin is a masterpiece and must see and visit in this huge park. Walking around this park is a bit physical especially in Summer. For the ones who have health issues they can rent golf cart just after the entrance. More economical way is to take the little trains that stops frequently at different stations for attractions. The sea view from different points in the park is relaxing to breathtaking. This is a must visit park for tourists visiting Sanya.

Ne there just to make my Chinese wife happy. All Chinese maybe believe this but for foreigner it looks like just as a bad copy from a real Thai temple. Everywhere souvenirs shops and no real Buddhism spirit.Gobtobthe Statue, you need Tobias extra,Ministerin cost extra, round tour cost extra and all small temple expect also money to trow in..not real nice to see 1 fake monk between all this souvenirs shops and eating shops..ice cream availing everywhere and small water bottle cost a fortune..not recommended
Tip: bring your own water and some sandwiches ..

Nanshan Buddhism Cultural Park was really an interesting place to see. This is absolutely a place you have to visit when you are in Sanya. The 108 m high statue above the sea was really amazing! We recommend you to go there in the morning, because there are so much tourists during the afternoon. Take time to be there, because it takes time to get in the temple and the statue on its roof and there are a lot of other things to see in the park.

The GuanYin stands magnificently in the sea in serenity and with an aura of benevolence. To get to the park, from the Yalong Bay Area, I took a one hour taxi ride for 200rmb by meter. The taxi driver was happy to wait for me for the return trip at no extra charge for the 3-4 hour wait and the same 200rmb charge for the return trip. You can also have a vegetarian meal on the temple grounds. There are also non vegetarian options. As the grounds are large, and the sun blazing, so for the less athletic, I would recommend paying the extra 30rmb to use the hop on hop off tram ride to get around the park.

Compared to other religious sites I have visited I thought the God they were worshiping here was money. However like a lot of things I have experienced while staying here the Chinese certainly do things a bit differently. Part religious shrine part theme park it was certainly an interesting visit, things are certainly done on a rather large scale.
We paid for an English speaking guide who we met at our hotel and this greatly enhanced our a visit but it will not detract from your visit if you go by yourself although very limited English is spoken there. Very busy but still a very peaceful tranquil place and obviously the Guanyin statue is the highlight, however the park does offer a lot more besides and there is some fabulous architecture to enjoy. Putting aside my pre conceptions I had this definitely a must see when staying in Sanya and its surroundings.
Where comfortable shoes and bring plenty of sun cream as it is very hot. The restaurants are vegetarian but very delicious and very reasonably priced.

We visited the Park during Golden Week. Even though there were a lot of people, we didn't have any problems getting around.
Seeing Guanyin was the highlight. Seeing her three different sides.
Wear comfortable shoes, since there is a lot of walking. There are trams if you don't want to walk everywhere.
The food is vegetarian. We ate at a restaurant that faces out at the statue.
If you ever get to the island of Hainan and to Sanya, you definitely need to put this Park on your bucket list.

A peaceful place. Requires lots of walking, however there are trams available for travelling around. Lots of food and drinks options available around the area. The Guanyin statue and temple is a must see! Overall, a recommended or rather, a must see attraction in Sanya.

Try to arrive early, otherwise parking is really far; in any case, this is a day of a lot of walking already to the ticket booth. Hang on to the map, it is a sprawling park, hard to see everything. Temples are beautiful (only one requires an extra entrance fee), gardens are manicured, all is very peaceful. There is food before the park, and then again inside the park from snacks to a really good restaurant. There are also boutiques with quality clothing and souvenirs. I would say three hours is a minimum but to really enjoy it, you could stay the day - we had no idea since the information was scarce about this.

The "park" is part of a huge complex that encompasses the statue, which is the main attraction here. But the park is beautiful and very clean with lots of flowers.
