This park was very near out hotel so we went there on both days over the weekend. You'll see people exercising, playing table tennis on the outdoor tables, dancing (bringing their audio gear), acting/opera singing (with costumes, backdrop, props *and* audio gear, even generators to run them). Some even have live musician accompaniment. No caged singing birds though. Lots of... More

We stayed at Home Inn Donghu Hotel. From the airport, we took the public bus no. 41 and alighted at the Donghu bus stop. We then cut through this Renmin Park, across a low bridge and the hotel is just within short walking distance from the Park. There is a guard post at the entrance where we entered but there... More

Not the most exiting park in China but good for a long, quiet walk. i don't know what to say. It's just a park.

On another of my walking exploring adventures I found Renmin park! just before the bridge. Attracted by someone talking on a PA and a group gathered around, I found they had a monkey on show, tethered to a guy. This poor thing was constantly belted with a stick kind of thing and was constantly cowering in fear. Not pleasant and... More

the peoples park is cool. Lots of parks in haikou - its very scenic naturally and the architecture(everywhere) is amazing too. Not many foreigners, I saw less than a dozen in two months and its as cheap as any city in china. I walked into it once and its just nature everywhere, water - a lake or something and trees... More

The park located in center of Haikou, no admission fee is required and there are a lot of people doing sport over there.

Not as many open green spaces as Evergreen Park but the landscaping and tropical garden spaces make you feel like you are inside a botanical garden instead of just a public park.
