Unfortunately the fountain was under construction so I couldn't get a closer look at it. Many places surrounding this site was cordoned off.
The beach on the other hand was nice and not so crowded

This is obviously worth a quick stop to take some pictures. I guess it's suppose to be a music fountain, but from the looks of it, the fountain hasn't been running for some time.

that is the best I can say about it. It is on the one end of Silver Beach and is a large sculpture created by a Chengdu artist or so I am told. Worth a look but not something you would regret missing.

So the definition of a musical water fountain, according to one source is; A type of animated fountain for entertainment purposes that creates an aesthetic design, which employs timed sound waves to water which reflects the light. I'm afraid there is NO music, water or lights, therefore I will leave you to decide if it's worth a special visit. I would say if you like art, sculpture, photography, people watching or ticking off tourist landmarks then it may be worth a visit, especially when there is a sunset. It's a shame it hasn't been working for some time because if it was it would be great. It's next to Silver Beach so easy to find.

This can't be called a music Fountain anymore as it is in such a state of disrepair it's not going to work anytime soon! There's not even any water in the surrounding pools.
It's now merely a big metal sculpture on the park behind the beach front, near the toilets and showers if you need to wash off after the beach. It doesn't warrant a special trip.

We were there during the day, and the fountain wasn’t on! It may be an evening event!
The fountain is overlooking Silver Beach, and the fountain contains a gigantic Pearl, and is guarded by 7 naked women!

Decent enough sculpture sitting in the middle of a deralict fountain and no music. Not sure it's worth a special trip to see it, but if you're walking along the beach it's worth spending a minute or so looking at it...

You can walk along the Silver beach and arrive here, or you can ask to the taxi driver to bring you here, then walk on the beach. The fountain can't work, so you can just admire the silver globe sculpture, better at the sunset.

Wonderful symbol of Beihai. A strange, mysterious yet wonderful city with great, friendly people. This landmark evokes emotions and reactions and quite rightly so. Well worth a visit!
