Free admission doesn't mean bad, but unfortunately this is not the case for Zhuhai museum.
Most of the exhibitions are just walls of text and the description feels as if you've jumped in the middle of a textbook.
The central area which show cases the local culture is chaotically arranged, decontextualized and quite random.
The dinosaur exhibition is completely in Chinese, and not a lot of real fossils I might add.
The rest of the exhibitions were not memorable at all.
It is not worth going in my opinion.
There is a city planning museum right adjacent to it, but it looked so boring that I didn't even entertain the thought of going in.

It was near my hotel and the entrance is free. It was a good way to learn about Zhuhai. There was wifi which is good. It was a nice visit overall.

I disagree with one of the reviews on here. There is ample English available. But, the exhibits are not that interesting. And, the building is in desperate need of repair and renovation. The museum is free with air-conditioning in many of the rooms. So, it is a nice escape from the heat. Kids will be bored, as will many adults. Either Zhuhai does not have much history and interesting things to talk about, or the museum curators have no creativity and imagination. Either way, if you skip this during your trip, it is no great loss.

Complete waste of time if you only speak English. perhaps for young Chinese kids interested in Chinese history. It was mostly empty rooms with walls with what appeared to be for young school aged kids.

The most impressive thing about this is the building. It's worth some nice photos. As for the exhibits, there are many rooms but we found most of them dull. Many of the exhibits feature pictures and articles that you can easily find with a quick google search. There was one amazing room with lots of crafts made by children when we were there that we really enjoyed.
Overall, this is not a place that you need to go all out to visit.

We were on our way back from the Statue of the Fisher Girl headed to our hotel at the Holiday Inn and saw a very interesting and imposing building. We took some pics, inquired what it was and then saw that is was the Zhuhai Museum. It was free so we decided to go in. It was better architecture than museum but it was free so I can’t complain. If you have time, stop by but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit.

It's an afterthought I stopped by the museum. Very simple, down to earth, mixed and match.
Before leaving, by chance, I spotted this Zhuhai Secrecy Education Exhibition -:)

I will tell the reader that I really enjoyed this site. The museum was free and well worth the price of admission. Inside were the most magnificent trees to survive in China. Along with the traditional, and authentic buildings, it was a walk in a part of China that is untouched by commercialism. No glitzy Chinese-disco music here. It was a calm and peaceful walk though a China that I wish still existed.

We saw excellent art and beautiful buildings/grounds. It is free! And there were some nice exhibits. I didn't think it was a waste of time at all. A nice place to visit.
