About
This worthwhile attraction is part of Overseas Chinese Village (better known as OCT) and showcases the myriad minority ethnic cultures that make this vast country much less homogenous than imagined. It also serves as a great introduction to the history and traditions of China.

Amazing introduction to China’s cultures and landmarks in miniature
We spent a whole day here! It has miniature replicas of many of the important landmarks in China eg Forbidden City, Potala Palace, various Minority tribal villages. We took a hop on hop off bus that takes you round the park to view the sights at our own pace. It included a boat ride which was surprisingly entertaining. The bonus was all the many live performances held throughout the day showcasing the various cultures of China at no extra charge. Amazing value for money!

    Highly recommended
Class A+ experience. I had expected it to be more educational but it turned out to be more of a theme park. This made it easy to quickly proceed through the park. I spent 7 daytime hours there and walked 9 miles. The bigger night time shows are only held Friday- Sunday though. The “New Oriental Dress” dance performance is included on weekdays. It lasted 50 minutes and was highly professional with amazing costumes. Almost everything there is in Chinese and English. My only complaint was that it was challenging to determine the show schedules in English but I still managed to watch several and they lasted 10-20 minutes each.

    Little China for everyone
This park turn out to be a surprise. In a extensive area one can take knowledge of the master landmarks from China. The Great Wall, Forbidden City and many of the most important temples, not forgetting the Terracota Warriors among dozens of palaces and iconic buildings. Of course each of this in a scale that turns everything cute. Along with all those miniatures there are also life size buildings, bridges, and lots of folk culture. The ticket is a bit pricy (about 30€) but all in all it’s a well spent time.

Splendid China Folk Culture Village is easily reached by MTR (metro) as it is within easy walking distance from OCT (Overseas Chinese Town) station. Splendid China Folk Culture Village is a “must visit” when in Shenzhen, China. First, you can have an overall view of it by taking a hop-on hop-off tram ride. See my YouTube video “Splendid China Folk Village - Tram Ride”. Moreover, there are fantastic shows to see, the best of which is “Oriental Splendor” which shows performers, especially beautiful women, in luxurious oriental costumes, parading and dancing. This show alone is worth the visit to Splendid China Folk Village. See my YouTube videos “Splendid China Folk Village - Oriental Splendor” Parts 1 to 12. For action-packed show, watch “Legend of the Desert” (half way through the hop-on hop-off tram ride). Check with tram operator for the timing of tram ride to see “Legend of the Desert”. See my YouTube video “Splendid China Folk Village, Shenzhen - Legend of the Desert”.

My hotel was just the opposite to the entrance of this attraction and I had the opportunity to explore longer. I purchased the entrance ticket at KKday at only HKD99 (cheaper than walking in), what a great price!

The area is huge, not crowded at all (I entered after 4pm on Saturday). Many eateries and street food which are my things. I watched an one-hour traditional show indoor which is free of charge, very spectacular.

This place is a miniature showing all iconic places and cultures in different provinces of China. There are outdoor performances over the site on schedule. A very good place to visit for a day or half-day.

A metro station is just next to the entrance of this place. Very convenient.

Overall, highly recommended. Only China has such excellent-value-for money tourist spot. It's only RMB90. What one can say? ! 👍🏿

A massive miniature model country. Needs a full day and probably an evening; we noticed big crowds queuing for the light show at sundown and this would be a great option.

Having lived in Beijjng for 3 years and toured around a bit we were impressed with the accuracy and intricacy of Forbidden city, heavenly and summer palaces models etc...the Great Wall model is Cecile B De Mille epic.

Food was inexpensive and regional snacks readily available. A big issue for young families is the availability of toilets and SC provided lots of clean and convenient facilities. Wheelchair friendly attraction.

Splendid China has an old school charm; inventiveness, pride and inspiration to travel more. This easily could have been naff but was really very delightful. Will visit again to complete the other half of China.

Excellent Akimbo cafe next door also.

One day is not enough to see the whole place but it's not that interesting though...

Unless you are into miniature works...its quite great....its like seeing the whole of China in one place...but fake miniature creations that are as tall as people or a bit higher....

it has chinese opera shows...magic shows...and decent restaurants and a lot of street food style...

One good thing is they have motorized bikes u can rent to go around the whole place...because its big!!

I’m negative by nature, but I have nothing but pleasant feelings about Splendid China.

Clean, nice, friendly. An an amazing entertainment value.

Especially so if you’re as ancient as I am.

I visited this cultural village in 2006. It was amazing then and highlighted the ethnic "minorities" in China. A worthwhile visit if you are in Shenzen. An interesting fact is that the Govt of China are encouraging "minority" ethnicities to increase their populations.
