Shenzhen Afternoon Private Tour of Huaqiangbei Shopping and Dance Shows

1 review
Shenzhen is China’s answer to Silicon Valley—but, unless you speak Chinese, Huaqiangbei’s welter of retail outlets is just bewildering. Head straight to the products you want with the help of your private guide, then unwind at Splendid China, Shenzhen’s original cultural theme park. Tour miniature villages, watch two spectacular dance shows, and feast on a Chinese dinner. Your package includes door-to-door round-trip private transfers.

Decided to rest at this SPA overnight. Beside this spa is undergoing renovation, I find it pretty comfortable with good food and attentive service. Check out the next day and it was heavy rain. They arranged private car to drop you off within vicinity for free. Very thoughtful service that deserved thumbs up!

For inquiring about a Spa, the pictures did nothing for me to go there. Need more information about the spa services, not a “slew” of pictures of food.

Very helpful staff try their best to provide services for english speaking visitors. it can be a little challenging to undertake a visit for the first time without a friend to help and explain the way of things but it could a very pleasant adventure all the same. the minimum charge is around the 260rmb level so make sure you take advantage of services over this value or you will pay anyway. I can recommend the 2 hour Oil massage which then alows one to stay the night and drift off to slumber land in a wondeful relaxed state. The facilities are clean and well maintained and some upgrading is currently being undertaken. You can have a haircut, all meals or just snacks with free fruit and tea available all day long. One cold easily spend a whole day or even two if the time permited and feel like you are in a world away from the daily normal life. Almost a mini holiday in itself.

Ok massage but definitely felt like a scam at the end when suddenly there’s a 13% hidden charge. Had 3-4 people pressuring me to pay for the hidden charge which by the people’s attitude seemed optional. Also the initial massage menu they give you doesn’t include the full massage list. Huge rip off if you went for one of those. DONT GO HERE.

For a Westerner this will be a very strange experience, perhaps surreal as other reviewers have noted. You arrive and are given a wrist band with a number and this is how they keep track of your services and accounts. Then a second 'checkpoint' and I was asked for my passport which I didn't have but no problem getting entry. Then you are taken to a locker room and an attendant opens your locker, you undress and are given a towel. You then proceed to a very nice area with showers, a very, very large jacuzzi pool (swimming pool size) there is also a steam room and sauna. There are cold facecloths and water. The entire area is very clean. If you take your cell phone or other personal items there is another attendant within this area who will place it in a small lock box while you enjoy this area. I spent an hour just going from pool, to sauna to steam room. there is a cold water pool in the sauna which is nice. The attendant in this area can give you fresh, dry towels. too. NOTE: apparently on the women's side there are none of these pool, sauna, steam rooms! At least 3 of the women in our group saw none of these. Then you go to a second room where you you trade your towel for some pyjama type clothes. There is good signage throughout. The second floor is bizarre. Large lounge chairs with tvs. You can get non full body massages here. There is a free fruit bar and the restaurant is located here (I didn't eat at the restaurant). I had a head and shoulder massage and it was nothing special. I wouldn't get it again. I also had a manicure which was pretty poor. All the staff giving massage will ask for a tip. They will show you a pad with $ amount options to circle. Apparently, the staff don't get paid, only tips, at least that is what they tell you. So, your services will be 50% to double the menu price...still, compared to western prices, very inexpensive. I will go back as I loved the pool/sauna/steam room areas. I would go to the third floor and get a full body massage to try it out. Not much English is spoken here and the whole set up can be a bit strange and daunting. For example, I went to the third floor looking for my head and shoulder massage. They showed me 2 fingers so I thought they meant to sit for two minutes, but they meant go to the second floor. I didn't find the massage staff very professional, but all the other staff, directing you within the facility were nice and more customer focussed. Upon leaving the gentleman who unlocked my locker to get my clothes brought me a glass of water. I forgot to say 'xie xie" (thank you) and he made a point of berating me for not saying thank you (at least that is what I think was going on) It was certainly an interesting experience. I will go back.
