this Fabulous temple was a real treat to visit. My wife and I spent hours wandering around the many sections and walkways of Hongfa Temple. We were even provided with a terrific Vegetarian lunch. The Hongfa Temple is within the grounds of the Fairy Lake Botanic Gardens which makes this a fabulous all day outing. The District and the wander up to the main entrance from the subway is beautiful.

The temple is rather new. Not much history but living contemporary Buddhism. People are very friendly. No entrance fee and you get three incense sticks and a bowl of noodle soup for free. Of course, a small donation should be given.

This is supposedly one of Shenzhen's more happening temples. It is in the middle of Xianhu park. It's okay but nothing special but if you are already visiting this park which is amazing by the way, it doesn't hurt to have a look.

This temple located in the Xianhu Botanical Garden. From the entrance of the garden, there are some buses (3 Yuan ticket) to take the visitors to the center near the temple. It takes walking and going up and down many steps to visit the temple. The temple and the surroundings are similar to many other temples. There is few signs in English and like many other places in the Shenzhen tourist attractions, non-Chinese visitors have difficulty to get information.

The temple is worth seeing if you have the time. It's a bit hard to reach, as you need to take bus 468 from Hua Qiang Bei to final stop Xian Hu (Fairy Lake) Park and then a shuttle bus to the temple. You should reserve at least half a day to visit it, so not that convenient.

The area and nature around the temple are more impressive than the temple itself.
