We were staying in Kande hotel located in front of the lake. West lake is in the heart of city and it is the most famous scenic spots in Huizhou with some temples & restaurant around. We had a dinner in one of the several Hakka restaurants around the lake and walked back to our hotel. It was a lovely... More

West Lake covers a vast area. It is possible to walk the perimeter of the entire lake, and cross at several points. We started walking from the "East Gate", which I would say is actually at the southern tip of the lake. The initial views of the lake were nice, and then for a while the lake turned to a... More

I thought it was just a lake but there are a lot of things that can be visited in there. Here is more like a big park. The lake is in the middle of the park. The weather of that day was very strange. When we arrived, it was raining. When we bought an umbrella in the neighborhood, the rain... More

A huge lake surrounded by a busy town. This lake has historical buildings on the little islands which is also interesting. We were there around June, too hot to walk around the lake, but very late afternoon for a walk is beautiful. Lots of little shops, cafes and local stalls.

This is a great place to go, very relaxing and lots of Chinese culture to absorb. There is great shopping around the area and the food cafes are also great. I also go back to west lake whenever Im in Huizhou

The lake is located at the center of the city. Both local people and tourists go there. Nice scenery. Very relaxing. The entire area is huge and one can spend half a day there.

It is really a very wonderful and peaceful lake to walk around in Huizhou. Suggest to have enough time to walk along the lake to enjoy its beauty. I spent here about three hours. It is much more beautiful in summer time because of blossom of lotus flower. Definitely worth to visit.

We were staying near by and enjoyed a pleasant walk around the lake. You can walk across to a tall pagoda which was closed at the time we went but the walk was worth it despite that. There are paddle boats for hire but we didn't try that. If you are not Chinese be prepared tone stated at. We appeared... More

This can easily be a half-day plan, the lake is located in the city center, is kind of weird, you can see few tall buildings around but the overall landscap[e is very good! There are few bridges too so you can follow different paths.

It is a must see place if you go to Huizhou though nothing special. It's a leisure place for local people and could spend some spare time.
