This is a waterfront park in Huizhou, a mid-sized Guangdong city where international traveler is almost nonexistent. The riverfront promenade is pleasant and good for a relaxing stroll.

I had several hours to spare before proceeding to my next destination and hence decided to walk approximately 1 km to this park. While on the way there, I passed by a square whereby there are groups of people practising dance and other activities.
Across the square is Binjiang park which is situated by the river. It has a large open area and a small amusement park with Ferris wheel. It is absolutely not much of an attraction for tourists unless one is keen to stroll by the river.

The park has a nice location on the river. It is divided into two adjacent levels. The park in general spans like a stripe on the bank of Xizhi river. There is a small theme park and two big open areas. The Huishadi 1st Street runs on a high level beside the park forcing the park to have a part the is on the same level of the street. the street cuts one of the open areas of the rest of the park.
The isolated open area is always live and full of people and different activities like exercises in the morning and dancing, cycling, roller skating and children rides in the evening. It is also always dirty and sometimes has "bad-smell tofu" smell as there are some mobile vendors there selling it. It seems that it depends on rain water to be clean as some stains (Juice..etc) will stay there for weeks if not more.
If you decided to cross the street to the actual park, then you will notice in the rest of the park that there is only one place where you can use wheel chair or a baby stroller (in my case). And that is in the middle of the park connecting the high level part with the low level part on the river bank. Since it is the only ramp available, it is usually used by motor-bikers. So don't be surprized if you walk there and suddenly a motorbike faces you in that 1.5m (or so) wide ramp. There are several staircases around but they are all only stairs with a 25cm ramp in the middle for bikers to push their bicycles.
The river side is not well guard-railed. A young child can fall in the river very easily. But the largest problem that I faced there was how to direct my 1.5 years old baby through the park without getting near to a dog poop or any liquids (pee, juice, spit you name it) on the floor. I couldn't let her come near any tree or a wall as they are usually wet from some children (sometimes up to 8 years) or dog's pee. The street level part is full of that.
