There is a 30RMB entrance fee. The garden takes about 30-45 minutes to walk through so the price is reasonable for seeing the garden. The area around the garden is mostly tourist shops and small restaurants.

This is well worth having a look at, a very pretty garden with good facilities. It was part of an organised tour we were on so we did not know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised.

I wanted to see this garden.... I have read the history...... I gambled going around Spring Break... just after. It was SO BUSY...... but not so many were going into the garden itself..... just the tourist-trap "old town" shops

It was a lovely stroll in a small delightful garden. Even surrounded by exquisitely designed skyscrapers it was well-sheltered... did not feel you were in the middle of the city.

There was a good food hall nearby.... pick what you want..... I like that.... always good value though horrendously busy. But for history and well-designed garden at spring blossom time...... YuYuan was the oasis of peace I had hoped for

I think the most stunning thing about it was the imaginative and cleverly designed doorways...... a treasure trove round every corner....

The attraction is great but beware of the stores that are set up in front of the main entrance of the garden. Some of the hawkers cheat you. My friend bought 5 and 2 free facial cream for 100RMB. In the end she was given 5 used and 2 new products.

Our tour group did a lot of shopping while we were in China. Like so much shopping that it almost felt like that is just what everyone in China does for fun.

Near the garden is a shopping mall by the same name. There are a ton of cool shops there. Haggle with the shop owners if they don't have their prices marked. Do not haggle if the prices are marked. You'll just come across as a dolt.

We found some great deals on souvenirs to bring back to our family and friends here. There was also a wide array of food available to purchase.

Very busy area packed with tourists but certainly worth a visit. The zig zag bridge to and from the tea house was amazing. The gardens with rock formations and beautiful trees is worth the hassle through the crowds. The history of each building was explained clearly and we found it interesting. Certainly a place to visit

Had a day travelling around the 'Garden' and while it was enjoyable - there isn't much greenery. For a taste of a typical Chinese location (absolutely bursting at the seams with tourists) in a old-worlde setting, it really is fantastic.
BUt you better like crowds.

Not a lot to see, small, many better things to see surrounding it. In the middle of the Island and near the beach.

For 30CNY you get into garden with couple of nice sceneries, buildings and sculptures. Took me about 50 minutes to fully explore, plenty opportunities to take nice pictures. There is a temple nearby so make sure to visit both both once you are at yuyuan.

I'm not a huge fan of gardens but this one was excellent. I wish I was a 5 year old child playing hide and seek here! Plenty of photo ops as well, even if you do have to wait for the crowds to clear.
If you have a tour guide make sure you ask them to slow down if you need it.
