This is a modern museum show casing the history of the county including its culture and ethnology. Much of the collection centres on religion and the temples in the vicinity. I found it quite difficult to take in all the names and periods. An excellent...More

Spend 2 to 3 hours here before you go to Ankor. You will understand the ruins so much more and enjoy them all the more. The air con museum is also a serene break from sweltering Siem Reap. $12 admission can be put on charge...More

If you are not familiar with the history of Angkor Wat it might be good idea to visit at first the Museum and go only after that to the site to get better understanding how magnificent history Cambodia has.

This museum does not tell Cambodia's history but tells about building projects of Cambodian kings. What kind of society was Ancient Cambodia? How did it begin, how about end? Kings are not measured in how much they build.

Easy to spend at least 3 hours here. Very informative. Has English signage but get the Audio tape. Watch the films in the separate galleries.
