Don't miss

I wouldn't have missed this for the world. I loved it as much as Angkor Wat and it is 200 years older.

If you go on a tour go on your own as guides want to tell you everything all at once. It's quite safe on your own.

Banteay Samre was the last of the temples we visited and it did not disappoint us. Beautiful architecture, carvings, and the lack of crowds were a big plus. Well preserved, carved doorways were amazing. In many ways, it is different from Banteay Srei nearby though both are Hindu temples. Not to be missed!

Banteay Samre underwent a complete restoration from 1936 to 1944, as such the temple seems to be in a better condition as compared to others. One of the most interesting temple in terms of iconography, Banteay Samre has many pediments and lintels which depict mostly mythological scenes. For some reason, it seems to be missed by many major tours as... More

This one was probably the most similar to Angkor Watt. It is less crowded and smaller, which makes it worth a quick look if you have time. I would say 30 min is plenty of time to spend here.

While this site is on the grand circuit it is often skipped because of its distance from the other monuments. Skipping it is a mistake that favors those who make the trip here with far fewer crowds than other sites this impressive. The look of the monument is somewhat similar to Preah Khan's blue green hue and there are some... More

Banteay Samre is not far from the Eastern Mebon and Pre Rup. It is easy to see on the way back from Banteay Srei. The unusual feature here is the inner moat which must have been striking in the original state. The complex was well restored some time ago although not recently.

The location is a little out the way , less popular , hence quieter . One of our favorite temples in Siem Reap .

Loved it. I have visited almost all temples and none is deceiving you . They are all great. If you have time visit Banteay as well.

Much quieter than the other temples. Quite small but great to see. Wander round at your pace. The main temple can be entered but inside there is lots of ruble the towers are very similar to those at Angkor Wat. A nice causeway on the exterior where you can imagine years gone by. Nice to be able to essentially have... More
