Huge but not chaotic crafts market. Tons of vendors. Went first on a Sunday and it was pretty dead with few stalls open. Returned on a week day and found dozens of vendors in huts and small shops. You will have to deal with lots of vendors entreating you to see their wares but will take no for an answer. They do offer a large variety of crafts.

It was difficult to find what I wanted but I actually bought some lovely items here..I bargained hard! But some wouldn't budge and I sometimes worry I'm the only one buying so give in. Yes it's a tourist trap but I assume it's not frequented as much and I feel I've supported these locals but also got some lovely items!

Those places look and act like tourist traps. Also found the art work to be relatively low quality. Will not go again

Artisanal center is the best place for souvenirs in Cotonue! It has really old and modern stuff to buy. Every time bargain, if you like to buy something. Show your interest, ask price and give yours. I would not recommend to pay 20% more compares to the price you think it costs. I bought 3 small masks for 7, 10 and 15$. It is recommended to bring CFA (local west African Francs).

All shops look the same, all prices are high but it's their joy to negociate a new one. There is a lot of nice and beautifull items.

This is the most popular spot to find local arts and crafts. You need a local with you to negotiate prices. Never accept the opening price.

The stall holders are predictably and pleasantly persistent in welcoming you and trying to tempt you into their shop.

The artisanal works on offer range from paintings to masks to trinkets.

The quality varies but it is a relatively calm and spacious environment in which to wander, perusing unhurried.

Charming collection of stalls and small shops selling souvenirs, clothing and art. The shop owners are easy-going and willing to bargain over a price. Most of the owners are multi-lingual and eager to make a sale. As a veteran of much larger souvenir markets such as Dakar, Ghana or Kumasi. This one hit the mark for it's relaxed atmosphere.

The same 'tipical' artisanal objets d'art as found in other westafrican towns and cities. Everyone wants to get you into your shop and you keep trying to walk away. Of course we ended up buying stuff anyway, so if you still need a souvenir and have some spare time on your hands...
