It’s well worth taking a boat trip from St Wolfgang. We went on two ships, which were both well-appointed, with a little bar on board. The views were delightful, and the service regular enough to make planning a day quite flexible.

A smaller lake in the lake chain near Salzburg Wolfgangsee is a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains, with clear water and a picturesque town on its bank. It was part of our lake tour day trip from Salzburg.

There’s a stretch between Furburg and Ried-Hallstein (nr Wolfgang) where cycling is only possible by heading up a 200mtr hill - very steeply. We opted for the ferry which happily takes bikes and had a rest while the boat took the strain! Great regular services...More

It was grand to take the relaxing tour of the pretty lake. Surrounded by soaring Alpine peaks, the vistas were superb. Leaving and approaching the various towns we had lovely views of the townscapes, each attractive and unique.

The ferry offers a fast reliable service with toilets, a bar and outside seating upstairs. Wolfgangsee is a beautiful lake and you can use the ferries to hop around the bits you don’t want to walk or just to get to another location cation. Recommended.
