Absolutely stunning indoor display of plants and flowers from around the globe. Be sure and look at the plants through the kaleidoscope they have set up indoors. The outdoor gardens are also lovely and varied. Easy walking both indoors and out. No entry charge, but...More

I went here with my friend. We loved that it's free. It was really cool. I especially loved the succulent area. I learned some cool facts and loved being there and didn't want to leave.

Amazing venue for an outside wedding in Ann Arbor. The flower gardens were a great backdrop and were great for pictures before and after.

My wife loves flowers so this was a no-brainer. Beautiful, well kept gardens. A conservatory filled with tropical plants and a desert section. Inexpensive as you pay a small parking fee in lieu of an admission charge. We didn't have time to walk the trails...More

I enjoyed walking by the river. The peony garden was in bloom and quite beautiful. The gardens are vast and there's a lot of paths to take and explore.

If you go in winter, there is the tropical conservatory that is well stocked! Spring, summer, fall --beautiful variety of plants, includes a children's garden. Also, there is a very nice walking trail

Matthaei Gardens offers guests options for both indoor experiences in the conservatory (and classrooms for special programs) as well as the outdoor trails. There is a space for special events (weddings, private parties) indoors that is connected to a beautiful patio garden.

Matthei Botanical Gardens is a treasure. There is a large circular perineal garden, herb gardens, perineal beds, a delightful children's garden, hiking trails, a conservatory and gift shop. As with all gardens blooms vary depending on the month you visit.

There are a number of hotels and motel in the area, yes. Since I am relatively local to the attraction (45 minutes) I have no recommendations. You could use almost any good online hotel finder/booking site for options and... More
