Be sure to take a taxi to the top of the La Recoleta. Just beautiful. It is the oldest part of the city and many things to see. This is also where the indigenous Museum is, the original church, a small market of local handcrafts, and a view of the city that is breathtaking! If you walk out a bit from the top, you can see the old streets and homes that have been here for centuries. Maybe my favorite place I visited in Sucre.

Was a monestery which is interesting as a building. But everyone comes here for the view. It can be very crowded in tourist season especially around sunset. One idea, have your driver stop for ten minutes on the way to driving you to the airport. Worth an extra B/10. That's what we did.

A nice and accessible place to have a nice point of view over the city. This place is moreover popular among locals for dates and marriage proposals.

A bit of hike up but offers a nice panoramic view of the white city. Especially pretty light around dusk when the sunset. It gets quite crowded here for tourists wanting to catch the sunset (some jockeying for photo shots) so one must be patient and/or like other people in your photos.

This place used to be the first centre of Sucre. It is situated on a hill, and is surrounded by narrow cobbled streets winding up from the present Sucre centre. From the terrace and the cloister the old monastry offers a beautiful sight of the valley of Sucre. Recently, a new restaurant and cafe has been opened, and the open air theatre below it is a delight to visit, especially when the music is playing.

Beautiful monastery and church. A giant 1000 year old cedar tree is quite impressive
The plaza offers a beautiful view of the city of Sucre. Great place to visit in the evening to take pictures.

Right now I found it closed for maintenance.
People on the street said there was misa at 7 am, though.

From the La Recoleta viewpoint with the arches, turn around to see two green hills. The one to the right is Cerro Churuquella. See the steep street behind the church, Calle Tiorinaceo leading up there. Follow that up to stone steps to the top of the hill. Or up higher, take the cobblestone road. See the extreme mountain bike trail with banks and jumps.
It's peaceful, has partial shade and lots of fresh air and views.

Lovely square with nice panoramic views of Sucre. Looking towards the mountains Sica-Sica and Churuquella is a beautiful backdrop that should not be missed. Good atmosphere plenty of people about relaxing and enjoying themselves.

I went to the museum at 14:45 - a little after they opened. Paid the entrance fee and then waited for the museum to open. The official guide probably was missing, but the daughter of the ticket-office official made the tour perfect - though she only spoke spanish. But she spoke very slowly and clear and was easy to understand (except for the tecnical religous words). A very nice museum that you should visit
