Great guides telling exciting stories about the independence process of Bolivia, and adding modern politics and culture. Paintings and historic things that need explaination for it to be interesting. Equally interesting for someone visiting Bolivia as a tourist or someone living here a few years (me).

Excellent museum with fascinating history. You need a guide to bring it to life as there aren't that many signs around. Don't miss this place. Check the opening hours though - and if you are early you can sit in the plaza and people watch.

We did a tour here. It cost 15 Bolovianos for entrance which included a 1 hour English speaking tour. The tour provided some great history of Bolivia from their battle for independence, forming the constitution, etc. Really learnt a lot and would recommend the tour. Some really nice are work and other items there also.

Not much information; none in English; impressive hall with ornate chairs and some old furniture & paintings.

If you don't know much about Bolivian history, then I suggest that you check out this museum. There isn't much to look at, but with a guide to tell you the stories Liberty House reaches a whole new significance. The guided tours are free/ included in the cost of the ticket and there are a variety of languages, including English.... More

The building is a good example of the traditional architecture in sucre and good for a stroll around, some of the artefacts are very interesting and others very pretty. The tour, however, is uninspiring and uninteresting, at least for a non-national of Bolivia. There are long explanations about every portrait in the building (primarily all of the presidents of the... More

Situated on the Main Square of Sucre, the House of Liberty houses a museum that tells visitors loads about the history of Bolivia (and some of other countries in South America). There is also a gallery of portraits of all the Bolivian presidents, as well as a library of historical documents of South American history.

That is what I loved the most in Sucre. I learned so much about the history of Bolivia. You should do it with a guide in order to have all the important information. The visit is not that long (1h-1h30) and that's really interesting! You have guides that speak Spanish (of course!), English, and if you book in advance -... More

Interesting exhibits and adequate tour in English. The tour was very perfunctory but the information was good. Enough to give one the idea but not so much to be overwhelming.

We visited this with a (free) included guided tour in English. It was great to learn more about bolivian independence in these stunning surroundings. The guide was very knowledgeable. A highly recommended visit!
