Often things are going on at this old square with a Spanish style cathedral and colonial buildings from times past, surrounding it. Young Bolivians doing an act. Argentinians making music. Though most of the time it is fairly quiet. Strange to sit in the sun in the middle of a city at an altitude of around 4,000m. Cold in the... More

The main square of Potosí is where the Cathedral, the government buildings are located. It also hosts a bronze version of the statue of liberty, in the middle of the plaza. Locals from all walks of life gather here. From the youths practicing street-dancing, to the lovers going out on dates, to the shoe-shine boys. This is where you can... More

The plaza is the heart of the city. There's often concerts, fireworks and other events. It has a lot of statues, benches, and fountains. It's also surrounded by beautiful historic buildings that are lit up at night. Since Potosi is always cold, it's really nice to hang out on a bench in the sun on a nice day.

Nice square surrounded by beautiful buildings and with lots of benches to sit and pass some time. There is a fair amount of traffic though and the car fumes can be a bit overpowering.

Nice plaza we visited with friends. It was Carnaval season so lots of kids peppering each other and tourists (who stand out in the crowd) with water bombs and foam. They love it when you get involved and fight back!

Surrounded by colonial buildings and the cathedral the plaza attracts a lot of locals who indulge in ice cream and orange juice. Its a pleasant place but not outstanding in any shape or form.

The small place is a good spot to sit but there are no shops, no attractions, nothing. the good point is that it is centric, near the hostels, near the cathedral and near the agencies to visit the mines

Nice place to relax and people watch. The fresh orange juices being sold for a few bolivianos are great. Very nice lit up at night

Seems to be a proper centre for Potosínos where either protests go down, or celebrations for holidays hit their peak. We spent evenings during the Christmas holidays watching the whole town come out to play, and in the mornings another protest would be there! And gigs come through here too, which is a bonus. Not especially beautiful, but certainly an... More
