Impressive 500 year old stone moai brought from Easter Island greets you at the door. Sadly I wish I could say more. The exhibits were interesting but mostly in Spanish and the gift shop was dismal. I think the town could do more with this place to garner more interest

There are only two REAL Moai outside of the Easter Islands--one that is in dispute that was stolen and is now on display in the British Museum in London and this Moai in Vina del Mar, Chile.
Don't miss an opportunity to see a REAL Moai!

Always wanted to visit Easter Island! Didn’t quite get there yet but was very thrilled to see a genuine Moai statue! I even have a replica of one in front of my house. Now I am going to plan a trip to visit Easter Island soon.

We took a tour of Vina del Mar prior to our trip to Easter Island and when we saw this Moai, we were so excited to see the rest in it's natural habitat lol. It was sort of out of place but still a nice quick photo op if you can't make it to Rapa Nui. :)

It was kinda neat to see this Moai on the mainland, but I really liked the ones on Easter Island better. Cool that it is there, but nothing to be wow by it.

Having seen them on Easter Island in the wind swept sides of bare hills this poor lonely and quite small Moai, claimed to be a real one looked totally out of place sitting in a street-side garden adjacent to a museum which charged Real 500 to enter

A very informative museum. Lots of information on the Rapa Nui culture. The chance to see a Moai at the entrance to the museum was a highlight.

An authentic Moai from Easter Island is outside the museum. I if you are interested in Easter Island the museum explains about the creation of the Moais and the people who created them.

This authentic moai is standing guard outside the Museo Fonck, the only one that you don't have to travel to Easter Island off the coast of Chile to see. It is very nice for a photo opp. Inside the museum are more Eastern island artifacts and shrunken heads on the second floor. I thought it was cool.

We stopped off to take a photo and learn something of the museum bring the Moai Easter Island statue to Chile. It is worth seeing and probably one of the better things to see while you are in Vina del Mar. it is only a small stature and there isn’t much information on it so it really won’t give you and answers if you are looking to learn more about Easter Island.

Thanks in adance fro this Canadian explorer!

Hello,
Sorry I have not been to Easter island. What I read about them was its a good 4-5 hours flight with decent pricing and since it was 4 of us, it would have been decent budget hit just to see one thing.
Hotels there though limited in number but were available when I looked into expedia and booking.
