Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building.

Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship.

At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004.

Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

Ok it's not cheap to enter but what the heck. We purchased skip the line tickets which were worth the extra € they cost as we were taken aside to have some Arabian coffee and when the lift was ready (max 10 min. wait). taken straight to the lift. At the top we had an incredible view of Dubai (although... More

This is one of the landmark sites of Dubai. The tallest building in the world is just stunning. You can visit the view points near the top of tower for sensational views of the city. If you do not want to go to the observation decks on floors 125 and 148 then go to At.Mosphere bar and restaurant on floor... More

Easy to find from the Dubai Mall. Amazing views. We had a little trouble prebooking a time to visit, but once there no problems.

The Burj Khalifa is definitely an amazing sight. At night it twinkles like thousands of diamonds in the sky. The view at sunset is out of this world. It is a must do on a Dubai visit.

World championship in architecture. Of course you can go up and see the city from 124 or 148 floor but Burj Khalifa is amazing as a building, so the best place to admire it from a distance.

We went with my son and his girlfriend who work in UAE. They had not been there so it was a must. No long queues, the staff were very pleasant which was refreshing. Lift was so fast and as for the view from 124, it was breath taking. Souvenirs were reasonable priced. Booked on line before we went. A must... More

One of our favorite experiences was visiting the Burj Khalifa & doing the At the Top tour. While it was a bit more expensive, it took you to the highest observation deck in the world & even allowed you to "fast track" (shorter lines) to the top & down to the bottom. Great views of the ever expanding city! Don't... More

Staying in Downtown Dubai

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
