About
Standing over 2,700 feet and 163 floors high, this record-breaking skyscraper in downtown Dubai is the tallest structure in the world. Burj Khalifa has several open-air viewing decks and swanky lounges which offer splendid views of the UAE and the Persian Gulf. The highest lounge is located at level 154, and there is even a hotel at levels 38 and 39. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill architects, this mixed-used development atop Dubai Mall is inspired by the Great Mosque of Samarra in Iraq. You might want to buy skip-the-line tickets or join a tour to avoid snaking queues at this popular attraction in Dubai. – Tripadvisor

Top ways to experience Burj Khalifa
The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.

    Top experience at the top
I really wanted to undertake this experience and having read some poor reviews of other peoples experiences, I was slightly apprehensive. However despite the 30 min ques to reach the elevator to go up, I found the experience on the floors 124 and 125 very enjoyable. I do think experiences differ from timeframes per day, per week and per season. I visited on a Wednesday at 2pm and really enjoyed it.

    Amazing Burj Khalifa ❤️
Amazing views of Dubai. You can’t go to Dubai and not go here. At night, the light and the fountains water show is beautiful. You don’t feel the elevator going up. You can take some gorgeous pictures from up there. Wonderful experience.

    Better during the day
This was our second visit to the TOP the first 3 years ago during the afternoon and on this occasion we came early evening. The queue within the Dubai Mall to enter the Burj Khalifa in the early evening was ridiculous and badly managed. Signage was not clear, we had tickets printed off and on our phones yet were told to join the rugby scrum queue requiring tickets rather than the fast track tickets in your possession queue. Women were pushing from behind in the queue trying to get ahead of you despite the queue not moving forward which was really irritating and had no choice but to exchange a few choice words when these ladies pretended not to understand English when they clearly did. The staff didn’t try to control the queue. The view at the top better during the day when you can see for miles and a lot of the main attractions from above. Very pretty at night and the fountains below look like gas burners from the viewing platform. Reasonably priced gift shop with usual tat but some nice momentos as well. I bought a raffia beach bag for only £16 which was a good price!

    Worth Experiencing
Fantastic to see city from floor 124 & to see fountain display, every half hour. Not much on floor 125. Very long queues everywhere so you need to allow enough time. However we only spent about 45 minutes there as it was enough. The lift is CLASS - special. We enjoyed the fountain display outside more!

It’s a long was up …with a great view of Dubai
Dubai comes to life at night when the lights come on. And there is no better place to see Dubai at night but from this engineering master piece, As one makes one’s way to the (very fast) elevators to the 145th floor, one learns about the facts and figures of the build. The view is breathtaking from the top.

Must go here when in Dubai
We have just visited the Burj Khalifa tower. Wow. Amazing. I highly recommend that you pay the extra and go to level 148. It is less crowded and you can see out from all sides of the tower. In addition you get fast tracked to skip the lines and are given a drink and cake when you arrive at the top. On our way down we stopped at level 125 (this is included in your ticket) and it was so crowded that you could hardly see the view. And the viewing platform only shows you half of the city, not the water side. And in the evening we returned for the light and fountain show. This is free and can be seen every night from in front of The Dubai Mall. Well worth the trip.

An awesome visit in Dubai, when you can find it!
Who would have thought finding the tallest building in the world would be so difficult! We’d prebooked our tickets the day before (a must) and arrived via the Metro system into the sprawling Dubai Mall. But how to find the At The Top, the gateway to the Burj. Impossible to believe but there are no signposts anywhere at the Mall entrance. We tried using the interactive map but that proved less than useful so ended up asking in the shops, eventually meeting up with another bemused and lost couple and together we found the entrance. From there, however, the whole experience was very slick and well run. Three lifts/ elevators turbo you skywards in one minute from basement to level 124. From there, it was out into the open air viewing platform for some anticipated gasps at the dwarfed buildings nearby. A quick status climb to level 125 and the obligatory exit through the gift shop and it was another quick lift down to the basement and out again. Just over an hour, money well spent.

    busy but worth it
As expected once at the top the views are fantastic at night, a real experience to see this amazing city. Be aware the queues to get in the lift are very long, it must have taken nearly an hour to get to the lift itself from the entrance area where tickets are issued. We had per booked out ticket but there was still a wait and large tour group joined in front of us. I think this is still a great experience but could be improved by lower visitor numbers to enhance the visitor experience.

    Stunning views
Great views from the top floor but also good from the lower floors. Would also recommend the lower decks. Quite pricey with a VIP pass. The guide was very casual and slow. Long queues for the lifts up (and down)

Despite having booked tickets online (that’s a must if you don’t want to add 1-2 hours of queue time of inperson buying ) it was a full two hours of walking and waiting in lines leading upto the lift from the Dubai mall ‘At the top’ pillar. The washroom on the way was terribly dirty with no cleaners in sight . Just two washrooms and hundreds of visitors is a poor ratio.
Need to wear comfortable footwear and clothes as it’s pretty warm and wait is long .
Once you reach the lift then they take you to the 125 th floor and yes the views are spectacular:) there is a door to step outside and feel the fresh air , take pics .
When you come down , tell the support staff and they take you thru narrow windowless corridors to the restaurant for your booked lunch ! The lunch was great and quantity was right .
Nice experience!

The Burj khalifa and fountains are amazing to see. Highly recommend you do the VIP trip up the Burj. Expensive but worth it. Dubai is staggeringly opulent but superlative at the same time. I only stopped for 5 days on the way back from a month in NZ. Certainly a very different sensory experience !

"Ascending the Burj Khalifa was a transcendent experience. The panoramic views from the world's tallest building were nothing short of awe-inspiring. As the elevator swiftly ascended, the city unfolded beneath me like a vibrant tapestry. The observation deck offered a surreal perspective, capturing the grandeur of Dubai's skyline and the vast expanse of the desert beyond. It's not just a visit; it's a journey to the top of the world, a moment etched in memory, and an absolute must for anyone visiting Dubai."

This is a must see for sure. We went for tea time and ended up staying to take in the night view of the city from 154 stories up. The museum is informative and a lesson for all ages. The customer service was impeccable. I'll probably go back each team I visit Dubai. It's a learning experience as well as a relaxing environment to enjoy the views at the top if you purchase the full package. The pasties were yum, yum.

It doesn't matter how many times I see the Burj Khalifa I am always in awe of it and I always end up with neck ache! This is quite literally a can't miss on your trip to Dubai, it is especially wonderful during the light shows.

Terrible organisation, they don’t limit the numbers of tickets sold so it’s hugely over subscribed and you spend an age queuing - think 2.5hrs. The lack of organisation means that people queue jump. We took kids and wished we had spent the money somewhere else. Total dissapointment.

I booked the more expensive sky ticket that goes to floor 143.
I was so glad I did as if you don’t the queues are horrendous and looked like it would take hours!
My sky ticket meant I waited in a comfortable waiting area with a coffee then completely passed the queues both ways to get to a lounge with an outdoor viewing area and was served drinks and had snacks. The whole experience was fantastic and looked a vast improvement on the experience those with standard tickets. Wonderful views.
Beware that if you have a voucher to exchange the queue at the massive Dubai Mall can take at least 30 mins.

We waited in line for the elevator for more than 1.5 hours, even though we had a reservation for a certain time. We have 2 small children. "Thank you very much" for the worst experience in Dubai. We would love to come back to Dubai, but not to Burj Khalifa

Horrendously long wait. Only two lifts in operation. Three hours in total and waiting online in complete darkness.
Go to the observatory and see the palm instead.
