Visited Burj Khalifa as part of a short tour around Dubai (be prepared to queue to get there, traffic very slow and queue to go up in the lift (would recommend the fast track, speeds things up slightly). Views are worth the wait, would I do it again, probably not, lots of other sights to see in Dubai.

If you can afford the extra it costs go for the more expensive package. Dont stand in line - go to the front where you will be shown to a private waiting area with tea and dates on offer. We were escourted past the que of people waiting and to our elevator. A spacious viewing lounge at the top (although... More

Go visit the Burj Halifa - with its observation deck - from there you can watch tremendous panorama of Dubai, Gulf, and even other Emirates! Burj Halifa itself is mind bogging construction which never end to impress! Even if I pass nearby in metro train I always make pictures.

Booked the 148 floor which also gives you the 124 floor observation deck. If you've come this far why cheat yourself of going as high as you can. Lines and wait is shorter going all the way and booking around 5 will give you sunset and nite views. Entrance is through Dubai Mall.

The name itself is enough to say that it's tallest building of world....the view is just superb and amazing from the top. The best time to visit is around early morning or just before sunset, so you may see the evening beauty and night lights of Dubai!! Also, around 7pm the fountains can be seen from the top.

Staying in Downtown Dubai

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
