The place is horrific! The Animals are in enclosures that are far too small, Dirty, and very hot. The fresh water looked dirty, the animals looked sick (The ostrich's feathers where failing off, the monkeys had lumps and cysts all over their bodies, The Tiger walked around in circles at high speed, clearly distressed). The place is in a sorry... More

Having scrolled through a lot of reviews here and heard negative comments about the zoo, I wanted to get a first hand experience. First of all, as others have said, space is not adequate for many of the animals there, especially the giraffes, lions and one solitary bear. Even when you overlook the space issue, many animals were displaying severe... More

We had an hour to spare before we had to go for a massage. Entry fee was something like 2AED which we thought was a winning price but soon realised why. It looks like a petting zoo with cramped conditions for the animals. The monkeys were all going crazy and screaming which of course entertained the tourists. We found it... More

The cost is 2aed to enter...so, this may question your thoughts prior to entering. The animals were all under-fed or they seemed to be all hyped up on some kind of drug, because they were all up and roaming their incredible small cages. Some animals seemed upset or in a state of rage (as would I). The cleanliness was a... More

This zoo is worst zoo I've ever been and I have been in many! Animals are in tiny little cages and the place is so dirty. Lions are trying to get out or just walk by the fence desparately. Don't go to this zoo! If everything else is taken good care in Dubai, these animals are not.

This is a place that they do noit advertise as much as the under water zoo. We went and took our friends children with us and whatever animal you would like to visit is there. Fantastic Tigers and Lions. The Monkeys as usual make sure they are the star of the day. For the four of us to go iot... More

Dubai zoo is perhaps the worst zoo I have ever been to around the world. It is small, with cramped steely spaces and limited animals who seem depressed.

Bearing in mind the image of Dubai as a futuristic modern go ahead emirate the zoo is a severe let down Concrete cages with no atmosphere, beautiful animals kept in poor conditions. It's a shame really and we wish the rulers of Dubai could do something about please. Fred an Dawn from Liverpool.

Staying in Jumeirah

Neighbourhood Profile
Jumeirah
Years ago, before the skyscrapers, before the 12-lane highway, there was only Jumeirah. In fact, when the UAE was formed, its rulers signed the agreement in Union House, at the very start of Jumeirah Beach Road. Often called “The Beverly Hills” of Dubai, a drive down Beach Road reveals one enormous, lavish villa after another. Originally residential-only neighbourhoods, they are now also home to an array of cafes, smart boutiques, and art galleries. Home to one of Dubai’s few public beaches, this recently renovated area includes a new boardwalk, running and walking track, with changing facilities and cafes along the way. Another landmark, Jumeirah Mosque, is the only mosque in Dubai that can be entered by non-Muslims. As part of the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, the mosque hosts regular tours and talks about Islam, as part of an “Open Doors, Open Minds” program. A wonderful way to understand more about the UAE and Islam.
