Just as a warning, this is really a shop. They have authentic gold paintings, bejeweled carpets, beautiful rugs and robes and Arabic perfumes that smell amazing. I would’ve considered buying one of the perfumes but I spent $150+ on my outfit for the mosque so that became my souvenir hah. This place was cool to see but this is not what you expect when you hear museum. Also there was one of the salesman that kept following us around saying ‘I’ll give you a very good price’ and ‘for you, I’ll drop the price’ over and over. The carpets and rugs were beautifully done though. Just know going in what to expect and with an empathic ‘no’ when asked about pricing and you’ll enjoy it. This is very similar to what they do on tours in Turkey so I had experienced this before.

We visited this place recently. Our guide said its a art center and you dont have to buy anything. Thank god we were forewarned. After completing the visit, they took us to a room to showcase their products. My god, they were pricey. They tried to entice us with deep discounts and how having this art piece in your home will bring goodwill to your home. And when we stopped showing interest, we were literally shown the door. Yes, its a nice place to visit and see the heritage of dubai, but feels like a scam when they push you to buy their stuff. And yeah, no pics allowed. Two word verdict - MUST AVOID.

Art fascinates me and Miraj Art Centre made me realize that art can be inspiring and wonderful. I came here with a lot of hope and curiosity and I must say, this place is truly a miracle for art lovers. If you come to Dubai, you must visit this site.

The Islamic Art Centre is really beautiful and it is home to expressive art pieces that demand attention. When I visited the place, I was literally astonished to see the pure art that reflected the thoughts of artsmen then. I will visit this place again because there are too many memories of this place.

Carpets is the one thing that brought me to this place. Islamic Art Centre is a gem of a place for art enthusiast. The embroidery, the jewellery and the art pieces are just spectacular to look at. I visited this place two years back and I just cant get enough of this place because of the wonderful architecture.

I regretted that I didn't check TripAdviser prior to my visit there and I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. we were arranged to visit the place as a tour group but the sales people were dishonest just as what others have mentioned. items are overpriced indeed and they boasted of luxurious goods with certificate. but the certificate is only a piece of paper printed by themselves. what a fraud and you can't get refund once you purchase it. I hope more people would read these comments above and wouldn't fall vicitm to them again. It's not a govt company by the way. just a private business bearing a good name.

I would like to warn other consumers and tourists not to purchase from this company. It is a dishonest, unprofessional and pushy business.
They will do their best at pushing you to buy items which are extremely overpriced. We have had items which we purchased through this company valued by multiple professionals with certificates and they will not refund us the difference (which is substantial) or let us return the items.
A corrupt and dishonest business, which does not genuinely care for its customers.

We signed up for an 'architectural tour' and were dropped off here as this was the 'Arts' centre. Well - I do like Islamic art so it seemed ok. But it's a shop, and we were pursued and harassed every step of the way to buy things. Disappointing experience. Dubai needs a proper Art and Culture Centre, but this is not it!

I suppose that art is subjective, but I would not consider this a place of art. It's just another glorified Dubai mall where they won't allow you to take photos inside. They say it's because they don't want copies of this 'art' being sold in the local markets. I've seen similar items in China and local flea markets- jewelry, rugs and clothing. It's basically a glorified mall and should be marketed as such. Also, tours should stop going here because the sales people are pushy and will say anything to get you into their shops.
