This is the closest image you will ever find to match your vision of the traditional middle-east. Very bustling and full of numerous south Asian expats. Great for dirt cheap cafes, sheesha and watching the hustle as people compete for space along the crowded souks....More

Having a stroll in Balad during weekend evenings is enchanting. Being mixed with peoples of various nations, doing some kind of window shopping, dipping into the fragrance of Al Baik, Fakieh BBQ, Shawarma or various fresh juices.... gives you a feel of nostalgic. Best place...More

Here we got some good bargains on chocolates and clothes, however, it's not really a nice souq or traditional market, quite dirty in fact, so don't expect nice views.

The spice market, gold market, textile market ... you name it, all is at Albalad. With many historical places to see and don't forget to check the Friday market next to the Jamjoom mosque.
