Hopping out of a “jumbo” (Lao version of a tuk-tuk), the first thing I saw along Sakkaline Road was Wat (often in Lao spelled Vat, both which mean Temple) Sop Sickharam. As with lots of wats in Luang Prabang (which has many English translation spellings),...More

Absolutely the best temple in Luang Prabang. In the evening there are always lots of monks preying or doing some activities. I had the chance to assist at the evening prayer.

It is another temple among many along this street at the Nam Khan river end of the peninsula which is the most attractive part of town. It is interesting enough and tends to get lost in all the other temples in the area.

Another of the 3-4 temples that are well worth a photo visit. It's easy to get to from any part of Luang Pranang and I enjoyed it.

We were fortunate to stop by around noon and watched monks preparing midday meal. The grounds have a lot of colorful, blooming shrubs many being bouganvilla. Temple is nothing spectacular but is adjacent to Wat Sene which is a must see.
