One of the must visit places while visiting Luang Prabang. Very intricate detail, shows a lot of history and a great deal of a place. Though there are a lot of temples here at Luang Prabang I find this special in it's own rights.

While undoubtedly one of the most impressive temples in Luang Prabang, if you've done any travelling in South East Asia then Wat Xieng Thong will be nothing new to you. It's a popular sight for tour groups and so any possible atmosphere of serenity is...More

A great place to visit, so much to see. The temples are beautiful and inside they were fascinating. Did not feel crowded and you can wander around at your own pace.

Our hotel was a hundred metres from the Wat and hence was very easy for us to visit. The various buildings/temples are strikingly beautiful with much detail and colour - with gold being the predominant hue. A great deal of history is associated with this...More

We loved the buildings and history it represented. The grounds were not overrun with tourists so we could experience it more peacefully. Yes, there is an entrance fee to pay but its worth it. Take a walk to this end of the peninsula and enjoy.

We liked this temple a lot. The roof of the main temple has beautiful lines to it. The temples have brightly coloured mosaics and some beautiful Buddha images. There is also a small unique reclining Buddha in one of the smaller temples in the compound....More

This temple was just next door to the hotel where I stayed (Mekong Riverview Hotel). There is a small fee to enter (I think it was $2). There are numerous steps on the approach. If you have walking problems, take a hiking stick as there...More

The temple is very nice, I liked at all. Only the charge entrance fee, what is not problem, only for me is question, if some money from the entrance fee will get also Buddhist monks. I hope yes.

Other than the cleverly designed and constructed 'Tree of Life' mosaic, the rest of the buildings and surroundings are dull and uninteresting when compared with other temples The amount of strewn litter is hard to fathom, as only a modicum of effort each day would...More

It is done in such good taste. Too bad we could not take pictures inside. But even the exterior alone is gorgeous
