I believe people there are doing a great job, however the way they call for help made me feel uncomfortable and excluded. Right in front of the office is the comparison between Laos and other (rich) countries, saying that GDP of Laos is 800 usd...More

I was in Luang Prabang for a week, taking things gently, and went along to 'Big Brother Mouse' sessions three or four times. English speaking tourists are welcome to go and talk to young Laos. It's free form - you don't have to 'teach' -...More

The library runs a 'book tuk-tuk' project. Visitors buy a book for $2.50 and place it in a rack. When there are 100 books, the library takes them, either by boat or by tuk-tuk, to a village in the countryside where the children have no...More

Situated on main street this is a hub of community. We visited to drop off clothing which we brought with us for distribution to those in need.

Not a must see but local lots people are eager to learn and this is an important resource for them. You'll be welcome and likely to meet and chat with keen locals.

This library in the old part of Luang Prabang is small and stuffy and consisted of about three rooms. The most interesting thing was to see the monks eagerly studying and working on computers.

I went there to drop off some bilingual books I had written. the place was jumping with energy and met Madame Chanta the librarian. This is not a library as such but a learning center. Laos like Fahrenheit 451 burned masses of books when the...More

Quite easy to spot this library, went in but there wasn't much to it. Not a must-visit but if you have spare time to spend then why not.
