Trekking, kayaking, cycling, rock climbing, community immersion are some of the highlights Luang Prabang has to offer. Multiple-day treks to the remotest places are rewarding as is the direct contact with people of the forest still deeply immersed in their distinct, centuries old traditions.

We took the 1-day 'white water' Nam Khan kayaking option over the more usual Pak Ou trip, and had a wonderful time. The trip was 16km, and included 1 large rapid and about 6-7 smaller (but still fun) ones. You're collected at about 8.30 AM, pick up the kayaks en route and then drive about 75 minutes out of Luang... More

Green Discovery has many tour options Take the elephant village tour that: - does not permit riding the elephants - not comfortable for you - and riding should be restricted to activities where the elephant is rewarded - not hit in the forehead with a tire iron (in some places!) - includes the baby elephant The baby elephant is not... We (3 adults, 55, 28 and 18 years old) took the 3 days trek in the jungle. I've done many treks in Thailand and i can say that those 3 days were a real 'local' experience. I didn't feel like I'm part of a touristic process at all (compared to Thailand treks - which is good but different). We were... More

We did the Nong Khiaw Day boat excursion at a cost of $100 for two people. We'd paid for the guide for their knowledge but he told us very little. Any questions we asked were answered briefly and the walk to and from the waterfall was practically in silence. In the village we were dumped at a cafe for 40... More

We did the 2day hike in Pak Ou district. Our guide was really nice, the food was good and it might be a good trek if you just want to get a hill tribe experience as you walk through five or six villages. There are lots of animals in the village and the kids are curious. But if you're looking... More

I went with my girlfriend to Luang Prabang and we wanted to have a unique experience, and we decided to try the Ban Chompet Experience with Green Discovery. If you are reasonably active, this will likely be one of the best experiences during your stay in Luang Prabang. It's amazing to see the country side and the various types of... More

This review relates to the multi sports 2 day trip into Nam Ha NPA. 1 day trekking, 1/2 day kayak and 1/2 day biking. The positives first - the Nam Ha NPA is really beautiful and best of all, it didn't seem to be crammed full of tourists. Over 2 days, we only ran into 1 other group walking, otherwise... More

Just got back from a two day adventure with a day trek, a home stay, and kayaking. The overall experience was very good. The trekking was easy to moderate, just as described in the itinerary online. The home stay was rustic and it was a great way to see some village life. The kayaking the second day was peaceful and... More

We were really dissapointed that we paid so much for this tour. There was very little guide information as we were just dropped at the entrance. We enjoyed Kuang Si waterfall which is amazing and also our boat ride on the Mekong however there are cheaper ways to do both of these.

Dear Greg D Can you let me know which tour you booked from us and which date of departure? Then we're happy to look into it. Our guides in general do let people swim and walk around the waterfall by themselves and just support from the background, but our guides are encouraged to monitor group behaviour and be active/passive as...
