Frere Hall is a must see! It's a combination of museum, art, and history. Exhibits change and it's a great learning experience. The iconic site needs more upkeeping. When you walk through the exhibit hall, look up to see an unfinished master piece (I'll spare the details for your visit).

The addition of lights in 2022 livened up the park. There is a free public restroom at the side of the park closest to the Sindh Club. On Sundays there is a good book fair near the entrance to the hall. Policemen are located at the entrance to the main building until 11 pm each day.

Nice building. Once served as a Town Hall for Karachi. Now houses a library and museum. Visited in the morning and it was OK. Came back during the night, and ambiance was different. Nice wind blowing. Lot of families and couples milling around. Nearby hi-rises including the Marriott add to the experience. Entrance is free during the day bit a parking fee is collected in the vening.

This was across the Marriott we were staying. The park itself gets busy in the evening but you have to watch out or you will get scammed. The building was built by the Brits and has museum of sorts. Like with everything in Pakistan nothing is maintained. Would no have wasted time if it was not across for our hotel.

In the midst of renovating this hall I was lucky enough to be given a guided tour through the hall. The art work on display was very good and the fresco in the roof which I had come to see was well worth coming for. Once this place is renovated it will be fabulous

Frère Hall in Karachi is a striking example of Gothic Revival architecture. Built in 1865, its distinctive red brick facade and elegant arches make it a standout landmark. The building’s well-preserved condition and historical significance add to its charm. The surrounding gardens and peaceful atmosphere provide a pleasant backdrop for photos. While the hall is not always open to the public for interior tours, its exterior alone is worth a visit for architecture enthusiasts and history buffs.

by a distance, this is the most scenic building in the city. A colonial 19th century classic that pays homage to the victorian style of architecture. It is situated opposite to the Marriot Hotel. This whole area along with Saddar was the city centre in british times so there are alot of other colonial buildings in the vicinity. The building is accompanied by gardens that surround it. The hall is now home to the famous Sadeqein's gallery. The place is frequently used for book fairs as it somewhat symbolizes culture and art. There is a fountain near the building and if you see closely, you will notice famous greek gods zeus, appollo and dionysus crafted on it. Why were they crafted? was the fountain made at the time of the hall or later? There are no answers to these mysteries. There is no info available or written anywhere near the foundation that answers these queries. So with all its beauty, colonial heritage and fascinating mysteries, it truly is a place worth the visit in the city of lights.

Frere Hall is one of the most beautiful and historical building in Karachi, Pakistan. There is a Library at ground floor and Sadequain art gallery at first floor. I feel this building should be converted into a National institute of Culture and Art. This place is also famous due to a mural, known as Al-Arzo Samawat, painted by the renowned legendary artist "Sadequain", which is a master piece and a milestone of art on the inside roof of Frere hall. sadequain Art Gallery has always been the central point of lovers of art from all over the world. I, myself, had an opportunity to see Sadequain doing his work of art in the Frere Hall in 1986.

A beatiful place to be for a while in Karachi, The building has its own character and the surrounding park offers quite moments to ponder, There is an art gallery on top floor and also a monument from the British times beside it.
