Beautiful architecture but the place lacks any kind of maintenance. Not sure how people can litter a place with such a long and rich history but they do.

Still, it is a must-see spot for tourists.
The walk to the forts is long so I would recommend taking a buggy up. They go frequently enough but get filled very quickly. Also speak to someone about taking you back down before you go in to the forts once you reach the top because buggies waiting there are already waiting for people.

When you go to the forts, there will be a photography company that provides costumes for you to dress up in Mughal attire. Not sure how much it was, about 3000 rupees for a good few pictures. Their photography isn’t the best so I’d say take pictures on your phone as well. They’ll say not to but eventually give up. I suppose it’s to compel you to buy the photos from them but it’s just good manners to pay for at least a few photos even if you get good clicks on your phone.

Entrance to see sheesh mahal is 100 rupees so about 30p per person. It’s worth it for sure, provides lovely views of Minar-e-Pakistan and is slightly more maintained than the rest of the free-to-see fort. Most mirrors are intact there but still work to be done.

Once you walk down you can go badshahi masjid and from there walk to the side streets with lots to do. You can eat at Haveli, enjoy the street performances and shopping.

Overall, a tourist spot to see for sure and there’s lots to do around it as well.
