It is quite a walk to get there from the airport hotel, but doable. You can also take the bus but it costs money. Museum is a good idea when you have nothing else to do.

A wonderful collection of buildings, some brought from other places some constructed in the traditional manner from new. Interesting and evocative of times gone by. Well worth a visit.

I Can really recommend a visit to This museum if you Want to know and learn more about Kangerlussuaq and its History. If the weather is bad-you Can spend a whole day there studying the collection of This Museum.

If you have something for WWII, you must visit Kamgerlussaq museum situated in Old Kamp. You will find the history of Greenland during the war and the office of the 2 commanders (Danish and US) during that period.

This museum actually takes about 1.5 hrs to view. IT has a great pictorial history and the rooms are Still as they were when the American base was there. The guy that runs it is unique and so interesting. Really not much to do apart...More

As others say, its mostly all in Danish, but if you do some research before you arrive, you can understand most of it. Most of it covers the Danish involvement with Sondrestrom AFB. Its a must-see for aviatiors or those who like aviation and history...More
