Really enjoyed the tour, crazy to think of there being skeletons & bones of many people buried under the city. Rich in history, a bit eerie but certainly worth the visit.

Wow...what amazing place..I was feeling like brought back in ancient times, sometimes even frightened of few scelets I met. Imagination was on 100 and I enjoyed every single corner, feeling like Indiana Jones and disappointed the moment I saw the daylight in the end that brought me back to present time and reality.

The Catacombs are unfortunately CLOSED as they are apparently being renovated and there doesn't appear to be an anticipated time of reopening. Visited here twice and this is what the security staff on site, the locals and the Central Tourist Office all told us. Such a shame as could be a great tourist attraction - let's hope that it opens... More

We checked opening times and arrived at 1:30 on Thursday 7 May 2015 to find it closed. There was no indication why it was closed and no indication when it might be open!

Don't be taken in by the evocative word "catacomb". There is very little to see here and it is only for those truly devoted fans of dead bodies and spooky places. To get here, walk 1km south from the Kasbah along Av 15 Octobre 1963 towards the bus station & market. Cross the roundabout and head 600m further down Rue... More

I was last in Sousse 15 years and would swear there was more available to view back then.Firstly the catacombs were difficult to find on foot from the Medina-City walls.Even locals seemed unsure when we enquired in French.Once there,we rang on the locked door and waited with another tourist who was already sitting waiting.Eventually a young Tunisian guy appeared with... Small catacomb. Most of it is closed to the public. You will not regret not having been here. Only about two skeltons visible.

This was a neat place if you add some imagination to it. In reality there is not a lot there except a few tunnels and a couple sets of bones. Also not much literature of translation available for english speakers. BUT...if you do some homework online before going, the history of this place is pretty significant. Especially if you are...
