Al Qaed Ibrahim Mosque is an impressive piece of architecture and has a very interesting story as it was built by a non-muslim architect. Its significance comes from its location by the Corniche in Alexandria, Egypt. Its tall Minaret can be seen from a distance.

The mosque of EL Qaed Ibrahim has always been the most popular mosque in Alexandria and probably the oldest after Morsy Abu-al abbas mosque. A few minutes stroll from Al-raml station square and would be nice to pass by

The mosque was built in 1948 and named after the elder son of Muhammad Ali the 19th century ruler of Egypt. The mosque has been in the news lately as it was the center point of action during the January 2011 revolution and the years to follow demonstrations.
