This bastion has been recently renovated (originally built in 1521) and can be seen in the middle of the citadel's northwest wing. There are 4 levels and levels 2,3 and 4 show a range of medieval artifacts.

It's a pedestrian area, along the river surrounded medieval atmosphere without interruptions of transport noise or busy tourist streets. You must climb to the upper tower and catch a nice view, be careful when it's wet weather the stairs are really slippery.

It is a pleasant walk up the hill over the small stream that runss down the wall. From the bastion which is one of a number around the town you can see the red rooves of the city.

From the market square you walk around and go along a narrow road slightly uphill and you pass under this arch and watch tower. There is a stream that flows on one side.

The bastion was communication and defense. Proof muzzles and mouths are used for pouring molten tar and hot water. Currently, there are organized temporary exhibitions and museum education workshops.

Graft Bastion was named after the creek coming from Schei, after works turned it into a channel, called Graft in Transylvanian Saxons' language. The Saddlers' Guild erected it on two floors between 1515 and 1521. Damages and restorations followed, until the latest renovation of 2004-2005,...More

Picturesque, charming fortification attached to the old city wall. As you walk along here, by the side of the creek, especially in the evening with the lantern lit, you feel a million miles away from the large modern city of Brasov. It's a beautiful little...More
