A few days ago, I also walked through this park on my way to downtown Plovdiv. The park is very clean, has very well maintained green areas and is relatively large. There are also several water features in the park including a water feature dancing to music. Numerous benches invite you to linger. The hiking trails in the park are also very well maintained and clean. There is no entrance fee in this park. The park ends in the large marketplace. Children are also provided by a playground in the park. You don't hear any car noise in the park. A long walk in this park is definitely worthwhile. Highly recommended!

Surprisingly good food and reasonable wine by the 1/2 bottle or bottle.
We had tapas (olive paste was great, guacamole very good and taramasalata was OK) and spicy salami pizza.
The fountain show is at 9pm for just under 30 mins.
Eat at the high tables rather than the sofas.
One grumble: smoking is permitted everywhere. THere is no 'clean air' zone.

The park itself is beautiful with long alleys, trees and flowers with recently reconstructed fountains. It must be an oasis in summer, and it is an ideal place to enjoy a wonderful stroll, the kids to play in the palygrounds and in all, a place to unwind.
You can enjoy a cup of coffee or a drink at the coffee shop of the park which happens to be right across the fountains.
The story though behind the park goes like this:
The Tsar Simeon City Garden, links to the National Revivalist period of the 1880s, when Plovdiv became the second city of newly unified Bulgaria.
Foreign architects and engineers flooded in to work on the rapidly developing municipality.
Soon linked by rail from Sofia, Plovdiv hosted the inaugural Bulgarian Agricultural Fair of 1892, for which Switzerland’s Lucien Chevalas laid out these beautiful gardens, on the site of an old Turkish cemetery.
The court gardener to the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Aziz, Chevalas had a number of sculptures embellish his landscaped public space. These include the Fountain of Demeter, Goddess of the Harvest, created by Italian sculptor Arnoldo Zocchi.

I was there with my nephew and we had such a lovely afternoon. You can sit on a bench under one of the many threes and look at the fontain whole day or just watch the people walking around. The fontain has a special program in Thursday,Friday and Sunday in 21:00 to 21:45 o'clock every week with relaxing music and colour water jets. Park Tsar Simeon is full of life during the whole day and night! It's situated at the begining of the main pedestrian of Plovdiv against of the Main Post Office

In my opinion, this is the best park in Plovdiv! A lot of beautiful fountains, a big playground for kids and so on - for me it is a must-visit if you are coming to Plovdiv.

Large lake in the centre of the main shopping area, surrounded by little cafes with a very impressive fountain display. On some evenings the water jets are coloured and set to music, very pretty

This park is very centrally located and is vast. You can take a walk after a day shopping at the main shopping street which is literally right next to a part of it. It's clean and also contain the colorfoul fountain where at night is a great spectacle to see.

reagardless all the years and communist influences, this is a lovely, old park in the center of Plovdiv. Well preserved little ponds, statuies and famous fountain. The old trees are priceless.

Saw puppet show and singing fountains.
Very peaceful and it's a nice place to relax.
Good for travelers as well if they aren't in a hurry.

Very nice, very calm and beautiful park to go with Children to play.... or just to read a book. Always clean. And the fountains made for the children to play are one of our favourite places.
