This museum is very interesting, the archeological artefacts are very well preserved and tell the story of Plovdiv very well. Towards the end there are big statues and huge mosaics which are definitely worth a visit. We thought this was one of the best museums...More

Studying the history of Plovdiv necessitates a trip to this museum, they have a tone of stuff that has been gathered around here and around Bulgaria thru the ages. Well worth the time if you like museums!

I was expecting more from this museum having been to the one in Sofia. It would have been better if it was organized with more information in different languages

Definitely worth your time! There were NO other people or groups there when we were there. The Thracean and Roman pottery, jewelry, helmets, swords, etc, etc, etc, were all displayed properly and were WONDERFUL. A high spot for us in Plovdiv!

I very much enjoyed this museum. I found the collection to be as good as the one in Sofia, with many fewer visitors. In fact I had the place to myself, without much noise of any kind. This was a pleasant surprise, since I have...More

The Plovdiv Archeological Museum is important because Bulgaria has a long, surprising and interesting history that deserves to be known. The museum is not so great. I was particularly interested in the exhibits of the Thracians and the Roman artifacts. The presentation and organization seemed...More
