This bridge isn't necessarily worth going out of your way for, but it was conveniently located a bit north of the traffic-free part of the Old Town and let us cross back over the river towards our hotel that was on the west side of town. The Neretva River is beautiful from just about anywhere, so we did appreciate getting the chance to see it from a new location and angle.

A bridge has been at this site since the Ottoman period when the bridge was built to relieve the pressure on the Old Bridge, which was then the only crossing across the Neretva. The present bridge only dates to the 1990s when it was restored by the UN after being nearly destroyed in the Bosnian War. The bridge is an arch bridge with a single span of 94 metres and made of reinforced concrete. The bridge is about 60 metres above the river, so it does look impressive from afar.

Plus one for having amazing views. Otherwise, I wouldn’t go out of the way to see it.

One of the many bridges crossing the Neretva River, this is the first vehicle bridge north of the Stari Most. This was reconstructed after the war in the same style of the original.

Next to others in the nearby vicinity, Musala Bridges pales by comparison. It’s a basic road traffic bridge with some okay views from either side. Nothing to purposefully go out of your way for.

While walking around the outskirts of downtown Mostar, we also passed by the Musala Bridge. This bridge spans the Neretva and on one side is the ruin of the Neretva Hotel. The bridge itself is neither beautiful nor worth seeing.
