This is a 16th century Turkish bath house where a visitor can learn about the customs and rites related to the cleanliness, massage, and relaxation of the body and the mind.

Having been to actual Turkish baths, I didn't learn much here.

Visiting the museum doesn’t take even 5 minutes. The idea is good but too short, that’s why the price.

I was with a tour and we had a few hour to stroll so I spent some of my time here. It was nice and cool inside but very small but good to know that there was no windows in the building and they got their light from the ceiling .

Don't really see the point of it. Not worth the entry fee of 2KM. Has 2-3 rooms with limited things to look at. Can view it all in under 5 minutes.

Good overview of Hanan culture. Small and a bit sparse still but it is new. Look forward to seeing this grow in future visits.

In Old city of Mostar, opposite the museum is this museum. It’s a demonstration of Turkish Hamam with all kinds of tools, shoes and tools used. A big tray of fruits in the middle. You can watch a video about Hamam. Very short visit for KM 4

Our FREE Walking Tour started and ended in front of this museum. After our walk was over, I visited it.

Entrance fee is 4 Bosnian Marks or 2 Euros. There is a small gift shop across from the Receptionist where items related to bathing are for sale.

The exhibits are limited, focusing on what happens inside a public bath. Explanations of the exhibits are in English.

On display are water containers for bathing, soaps, razors and items used by barbers, food containers/dining inside the bath house, loofah, cover up when inside the bath house, etc.

Very educational for me as I have never been inside an operating bath house. Will try it for the experience!

We’re actually planning to visit a Hamam pretty soon for a bath, so this was a nice preview that gave my kids some context. That said, if they didn’t have that to look forward to, they’d have complained. Still, it’s cheap and quick, and if you have any interest in ritual bathing as a window into culture, I’d recommend a quick trip. We were in and out and happy in under a half hour. Bonus: the gift shop smells good and is reasonably priced.

The entry fee may only be €2 but it’s not even worth that. The exhibits are misleading and lacking any proper information. Everything is new or remodelled and there are no authentic examples of what the Turkish baths would have looked like in the time they were used. All in all a total waste.

This is another reminder of the Othman era, and still being used as public bath for a fee, with separate specific days for men or women.
