The Northern Gate offers great views of the city walls and is less crowded then the Sea Gate but isn't as close to Kotor main attractions. Probably worth walking out of once but not an unmissable attraction.

Great location to get a shot of the city walls, mountains and the monastery. If you are driving to the town then keep and eye for the parking on the other side of the water from the walls.

This is close to the start of the challenging walk along the walls. Some of the paving is steep and very slippery when wet but the gate is worth a visit

The North gate was built in remembrance of the battle against Otoman empire attacks that occurred 1539; one year later the gate was built. From this point you can also see the shortest river in Montenegro, Škurda.

The northern gate and the walls next to it are really well preserved (although there was a fracture in 1 place and they were renovating it). Really nice medieval architechture with a nice lake infront of the walls. Nice to see in a morning or...More
