The best part is entering the Bay of Kotor, gliding through the mountains on what appears to be a fjord. In reality it is a valley that the water has etched out over time. We started from Kotor Bay and took the scenic switchbacks up the mountain and looked back down on the bay. We stopped and had lunch of... More

The views cruising into and out of Kotor are breathtaking (if you don't enter by ship, be sure to get out on the water sometime during your visit.) If you ever need to disappear, this might be the place to go.

The town has grown around the harbor or bay area with not too many roads. The hills around the bay are quite high and seem to get clouded in early in the day. It burns off as the sun gets higher.

The view of the bay is just amazing. The whole area has a very vibrant vibe and it's really a must see when in the Balkan area

The old town is easily accesible, however the fortifications will require a lot of effort, lost of steps to climb!

A very quaint town and what a beautiful bay. Stunning views from the top. Well worth the climb. Will do it again if I ever revisit. The Fjords are breath-taking.

Our ship approached Kotor through fiordlike scenery. The entry took about 30 minutes and it was a stunning experience. As we neared Kotor itself, the inlet narrowed and it was great to see the beautiful little city close up. A gem that is being discovered by an increasing number of tourists.
