Dunavska Street is a Pedestrian street in the center of Novi Sad, the second main city in Serbia. Here you can see some bars and restaurants and also shops, so it is the typical pedestrian place in the center of a city, where you can walk, buy something, eat or drink or only see people. It is nice.

It's a ruined street by discussing city management. You can't even pass through it because all cafes and restaurant have their tables and chairs all over the street. The pedestrian zone that is not for walking anymore. It is very short street, I assume not more than 200m with zero interesting content.

The meeting point for everyone in the area, very nice to stroll around all hours of the day. Going out for coffee and food and a leisurely walk to the nearby park with a coffee in hand. Hours of relaxation and at a slow pace.

Novi Sad is an extremely charming and beautiful historical city. In the old town core, the atmosphere is pleasant. Old buildings are remarkably preserved and witnessed in the past. Danube Street is an example of this. Dunavska Street is one of the oldest in Novi Sad, joining the Danube River and Zmaj Jovan Street. Its present appearance is the result of renovation that began in mid-19th century after the major destruction in Buna 1849th.
The street was once full of craftsmanship. Today, some of them survived. At the beginning of the street is the City Library. Across the road is the oldest house in Novi Sad - " At the White Lion" built in the first decades of the 18th century.
Svetozar Miletić, a Serbian politician and mayor of Novi Sad, lived on number 14, and many well-known people lived in this street, such as Sofia Vujić, Milka Marković, Jaša Tomic ... The street is worth visiting, and enjoying the beautiful facades of the building. Also cafes and restaurants offer a wealth of delicious meals and drinks. The atmosphere is wonderful.

The Dunavska Street or Danube Street is one of the oldest streets in Novi Sad and is one of the iconic streets of the city (if Barcelona has La Rambla, Budapest has "Vaci utca" in Novi Sad you'll find Dubavska) , nowadays only pedestrian so no car traffic will bother you.
One story buildings at the street, but if you get in the passages and int he courtyards you will find all sort of shops, restaurants, cafes. So if you walk on the Dunavska take your time, there are several points of interest.
On this street you will find a building/house named "Kod Belog Lava" - it is the oldest building in Novi Sad - you need to know that during the revolution of 1848 and 1849 a large part of the cities buildings were totally or partially destroyed so those had to be rebuilt - especially in the central area of the city.
So for those into history it will be also interesting - for those into architecture will have some hidden treasures waiting to be discovered.
Once you are in Novi Sad for sure its worth a visit.

Loved strolling down that pedestrian street and have a cup of coffee in one of the (many) coffee shops while watching people walk by. The street singer was performing some songs from Đorđe Balaševic (a famous poet/singer from Novi Sad), it was a sunny Sunday afternoon, and as I watched people slowly passing by, I beleived I could feel the very soul of that wonderful city.

Amazing architecture, shops and restaurants/cafes. Don't miss this street in Novi Sad. Much more beautiful than Belgrade, in my opinion!

Dunavska Street is one of the oldest streets and the best known street in the very center of Novi Sad (the capital of province of Vojvodina). There are shops, restaurants and coffé bars. There are also The Museum of Vojvodina and The City Museum of Novi Sad. It is located in pedestrian zone of the town center near the beautiful Danube Park.
