Took a trip to Veli Iz on the Jadrolinija ferry "Olea" and so spent a couple of hours here, while spending 2 weeks in Zadar. The village is frequented by those into yachting, there were quite a lot of visitors around, though it's well off the normal tourist trail.Easy to find shops and bars open.Good views of the desolate western side of Ugljan.

My husband's family is from Mali Iz so when we visit we stay in a family house. There are lots of apartments and houses to rent on the island and that is the way to go. If you want peace and quiet and to people watch, this is an excellent get away. The water is crystal clear, like nothing I... More

We were very surprised at how pretty the island was. Lots of ancient attractions to stroll amongst. Very clean and tidy and has some very good restaurants. Konoba Stara Kuzina was a standout.

I am not sure I have ever felt as peaceful as I did on Iz! It is a beautifully quiet and a perfect place to relax. There are not really beaches but we just lay our towels out on the grass and it was perfect. It doesn't seem that many tourists visit and it had a real authentic feel. Lovely... More

This small island is placed almost between islands of Ugljan and Dugi Otok. It has two settlements, Veli Iž on north and Mali Iž on south of the island. They have a road connection, and there is a bus connection after ferry arrives. Both settlements feature small shop and a bar, and Veli Iž has one hotel. I visited the... More

If you are looking for a quiet place to stay, far away from noise and city jams, you are in the right place. The island Iž is located near the city of Zadar between dozen small islands near the Kornati National Park. The island is famous for traditional crafts, wealthy cultural heritage, magnificient nature and beaches with many coves. Fishing... More
