    A picturesque harbor
With lovely views from multiple places around the old town, Dubrovnik harbor is a beautiful and picturesque harbor. It has nice little boats filling it and making it a visual spectacle. You can get a ferry to Lokrum island from here. There area few restaurants located near the old harbor but a lot of these are very expensive. the best one we found was Gradska Arsenal.

This was my dream place to visit, after hearing from people who have visited I planned to visit. The place is huge. When it says old town, I thought everything we see would be old days product. To my surprise it’s the buildings church’s and the history is old the rest is very modern. Never ending treats, foods and shoppings. Even though it was extremely hot and tiering, I have gone 4 full days. Evening is totally different looks. Very beautiful. Very safe place to walk around. It’s very hilly city it won’t be easy, for a person with mobility issues. The wall have many many stairs and reminds me of Great Wall China. Over all I had a great time!

    Cute little harbor
The city harbor is at the opposite end of the Old Town from the Pile Gate. We were able to see it and its very beautiful blue water from above during our walk around the city walls. We also walked out at street level later to look around. The harbor is fairly small and the huge cruise ships stop elsewhere, so it's mainly a marina with small watercraft. There are multiple restaurants with seating out towards the harbor and nice views, although they were expensive enough that we didn't eat there, just walked around for a few minutes to see the harbor from various angles.

    Out One of the Gates
Very pretty seaside area out one of the gates from the old city. Lots of people around eating ice cream and booking boat tours, which mostly leave from this harbor. We also saw a number of yachts anchored here. Some harborside restaurants.

Lots of benches line the harbour and it's an ideal place to look at the many boats coming and going. Around the corner is a swimming area too so many fish too with a local lady using a line and catching her supper. One of my favourite spots and quieter than the city walls.

For me the harbour is the beating heart of the city, a beatiful spot to catch a boat ride, visit the sights or chill out and watch the world go by. There is a restaurant amd ice cream shop in the vicinity along with many vendors selling excursions.

A visit to the historic center of Dubrovnik would be incomplete without visiting the old port. Despite being excessively busy with tourist businesses, it still retains its beauty.

We walked along the underpass of the Bell Tower to reach Dubrovnik's Old Port. From here we could see fantastic views of the sea, St. John Fort, and the City Walls. The walkway that hugs the Old Port also has benches for visitors to sit down and enjoy.

Old Port Dubrovnik is located at the Eastern part of the City. The port is encompassed by two breakwaters. The breakwater Porporela in front of St. John fortress, (used as a bathing area at the base of the fortress) and the Kaše breakwater going perpendicular across the port bay.

In the time of the Dubrovnik Republic several forts protected the port as the economy of the Dubrovnik Republic was highly dependent on the quality of its ships as the easiest way to transport goods was over the sea, but today the port is a safe haven for the many private boats of local citizens.

Also, the regular boat line to Lokrum island departs from the Old Port, as well as the boat lines to Cavtat, Mlini, and various sightseeing boat tours.

Harbour not really that big and not much to see or do around harbour itself.

I would recommend walking around at sunset when lighting around walled city takes effect, I did enjoy the night time very peaceful watching the boats, ocean and walled city with lighting flickering across the harbour.

Amazing place but on looking closer at the seawater, it's polluted with sewage. There's no warning to stop people swimming. It should have a public health warning in place.

A very pretty harbor gives scale to the size of old town and the city walls of Dubrovnik. I think many cruise ships used to tender boats in here, but now many use the more modern terminal 20 minutes to the north that doesn't require tendering.
